The Mother Vicar of the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, learning of Father Fox’s retirement; invited him to assist at the Shrine where he arrived in July 2003. For years since then he has offered Mass daily in the lower church of the large Shrine Church and heard confessions of the Poor Clare Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.

Fr. Fox could often be seen praying the Stations of the Cross in the main church of the Shrine. His book Protestant Fundamentalism and the Born-Again Catholic was one of several books that were instrumental in bringing me to the Catholic faith. Three or so years ago I had the opportunity to tell him that when I ran into him on the grounds of the Shrine. Miss Bonnie and I also attended several of his Sunday morning Masses in the Shrine’s Lower Church.

Good fight, Father Fox, and good race. By the will of God, santo subito.

Hail, Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Fox, O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
 
Our Blessed Mother definitely escorted Fr. Fox to her son.

He was one of the most holy priests that I’ve ever met.

I love you Father and will miss you very much.

My eldest son traveled to Fatima with Fr. Fox twenty plus years ago. He was one of many pilgrims to journey to our Lady’s special site. Father was a true Marian priest . He will be missed and remembered with fondness and love.
 
thomas, Fr. Wade Menezes from the Fathers of Mercy said that he visited him about two weeks ago. Fr. Fox was sitting in the recliner, praying the rosary. Not at all worried about death, but worried about the continuation of his apostlate.
 
Rest in peace Fr. Fox…may you be as busy in heaven as you were on Earth.

He was a very fine man…He loved God and the Blessed Mother and tried to bring as many as possible to salvation
 
Miss Bonnie went to the wake last night at the Shrine; she said it was beautiful. According to Fr. Miguel (he officiated), Fr. Fox said daily Mass in the lower church up until the day before he died.

On a side note, when she was leaving, she stumbled going down the steps leading from the piazza (not pizza, piazza). Immediately there were two men in Roman collars who offered to take her bag and walk her to her car. One of them looked familiar, and she asked who they were. One of them was Deacon Terry, from St Paul’s Cathedral (I think); the other was our bishop, Robert Baker. 😃

He was a wonderful teacher! After every Mass that I went to, I tried to write something down that I learned from him.

Dave…we are so blessed to have Bishop Baker!
