Tonight at the evening Mass I took part in the Rite of Sending Forth to prepare me for Sunday when I go to the Cathedral to become Elect.
It’s a pity that the priest forgot to mention it at Sunday Mass so only a handful of people attended. Still, I found it incredibly moving. The first reading Eccliastes 2.1.11 was eerily apt…so much so that I at first thought it was deliberately chosen which of course it wasnt.
Immediately after we had the RCIA meeting. I now discover that my beliefs are classed as fundamentalist. I dont think the Mass is a “feel good” moment. I dont think we should have a “folk Mass” with some eejit playing a guitar I do think the priest should “kick ***”. I dont think we’re all destined to heaven.
I’ve hated this forum at times but unbeknown to me it’s had a huge effect upon me. I take my Catholicism seriously!
