Rituals of the Mass

Hi again,

I just wanted to thank everybody here for the responses and help! I read through the girm and info given me which was quite interesting. Yes, my original priest just basically did everything he was supposed to. The only 2 variances I found was his ringing the bell in the doorway of the sacristy before approaching the sanctuary, and he also had the bell rung after he received the consecrated host and wine when he brushed the surface of the paten lightly just before disturbing communion. Otherwise, I saw everything he did in the official writings.

Interesting of all the variance now, yes? I know there are still some priests who do everything to the “letter” and I’ve also been to masses where they were more like Protestant services.

One priest in particular at our parish performs each motion and says/sings each word with such reverence that my heart doesn’t know whether to sing or to cry! By the way, I’m a public school teacher, and recently showed my students a video of a Japanese tea ceremony. While pointing out how each movement is precise, has a specific meaning, and has been practiced for ages, I was reminded of our special privilege as Catholics to witness tradition that surpasses even this in agelessness and, especially of course, in meaning.

I don’t know if any of you have even heard about MADJUGORJE. Just as at Lourdes our Blessed Mother has been appearing to 6 visionaries for the last 30 years. Our Mother Mary has been giving them messages to aid our world. She tells us to PRAY (the rosary) as well as other prayers, Go to confession, go to mass and receive the Eucharist. There are 10 secrets to be revealed. The first 2 secrets are actually warnings for the world.The third secret will be a perminent sign in Medjugorje so non believers will know that GOD DOES EXIST!! Many people doubt it. While on this site I came to a link called
( www.thewarningsecondcoming.com ) another Catholic woman who lives in Eurpoe has also been getting message from Jesus and Mary FOR ALL NON BELIEVERS it is worth a look. One of the first things that Jesus told us to watch for were CHANGES TO THE MASS. Jesus said"Watch carefully now the changes you will see creeping in within your own ministry.Some of these adjustments will not seem to be a problem in the beginning. But as time moves on certain changes will be forced upon you and you will be made to swallow lies.The lies will come from Satan and will be dressed in sheep’s clothing."
“For those pure of heart you will know instantly and will recognise the evil cunning in place which is being designed to destroy My church on earth from within its own corridors”. Jesus goes on to say “My truth will cause gasps of indignity throughout the world when My priests will say surely this prophecy is a lie? The only lie that they will bear witness to will be the one they are forced to approve which will be in direct opposition to My sacred scriptures given to mankind right from the start.NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO ACCEPT ANY OTHER TRUTH OTHER THAN THAT CONTAINED IN THE HOLY BIBLE.
Many changes will be be introduced which will contradict the word of My Eternal Father. These changes, My sacred servants, wont be of divine origin and you must REJECT THESE UNTRUTHS if you want to remain loyal to Me.
Wake up. Stand up to those lies you will have to face. Never accept them. My Eternal Father’s word will never change.It can never be adjusted by mankind.”
The world is at a changing point. Mary said in Medjugorje this will be her last time visiting the earth because after all things come to be there will be no further need. We are living right now in a time of great grace. Mary and Jesus want us to be prepared for what we are all going to have to endure. This time as we know it seems to be coming to an end soon. What ever is about to happen we need to stay allert !! Before God comes the Devil is going to make his last hurrah! He will perform miracles so as to fool us all. He wont look like a demond but will disguise himself so we swallow his lies. But Jesus says we will recognize him for what he is if we are allert Many will be fooled so watch what he reeps. Don’t swallow lies that contradict GOD WORDS THE HOLY BIBLE.

Sacred Tradition and the Magesterium are part of our lives and very Catholic…very sola scripture’ish sounding

In my opinion, Medjugorje is a big fraud.

In my opinion, Medjugorje is a big fraud.

I may not say a fraud…but I certainly do not get the feeling about it that one gets from the Fatima message…generally it is simple messages.

The bigger picture is completely missed in the statements regarding Holy Scripture …it completely seems to ignore Sacred Tradition, and the teachings and interpretaion by the Church Fathers, the Papal Encyclicals and the wealth of tremendous history of our Church.
It sounds very, very protestant to me.

I must admit, I have not studied the 30 years of messages, I will get to it when I have completed reading all the official documents of the Church which HAVE been approved by the Magesterium.
