I love watching Robot Chicken, it’s one of the few comedy shows that still make me laugh. But I have been disturbed by some of it’s sketches on religion.

Is it okay for Catholics to watch this show?

I would say no. All of are activity(work recreation etc.) must be oriented towards seeking God. So the question must be asked; how does this show lead you to God?

Something everyone has to discern for themselves, prayerfully. Full disclosure, I love many of the sketches, chiefly the Star Wars parodies. Many of the sketches I fast-forward, to be sure.

It’s a mixed bag with that show. I’ll pray that we both figure out what we’re supposed to do with it. 👍

I’ve seen a lot of the Star Wars skits, and most of those are harmless, though I’ve seen quite a few other skits on Youtube, and I’d say that the show should be best avoided, and not just because of the religious content. There’s also a lot of raunch and graphic violence that’s inappropriately played for laughs. It’s a similar situation I had with Doctor Who. I loved that show until I realized how anti-religious and pro-gay it is. If a work of art is strongly against God like that, I don’t feel right supporting it.
