Rock bands who dedicate music to Satan

I found this in an old thread.
Thanks to Father Corapi for that. I heard his old three-tape-set, Spiritual Warfare, and in one part he spoke of being present in studio (before his conversion) when certain well known rock groups did certain things with their music, I’m talking Satanic dedication, prayers and rituals, etc. Sounds cooky, but Father Corapi’s story, if you don’t know it, is true - and could very well place him right where he says.

No, I did not mean the White Album, which by the way would not even get mention had it not been connected with the Manson murders. Keep that in mind.

White Christmas, by Bing Crosby played backward, some say has the same so called “satanic mantra”. That is what I was referring to.

As for the geez louise remark…methinks some people spend too much time looking for evil they miss the creative musical artisans out there.

Led Zeppelin is a favorite of mine…along with The Who…older Aerosmith (pre-1990)…Boston, you know “old school” classic rock.

Hey, I am with you on liking The Who (saw them in concert just last year), but The Beatles White Album with the “Turn me on Dead Man” had nothing to do with Manson. That was referring to the Paul is dead hype. Manson’s group did see somethings in the Piggies track along with Helter Skelter… Manson’s group also thought evil things said on the Beach Boys Pet Sounds album. Didn’t Charlie give Brian Wilson a song?

Never heard of the White Christmas stuff…but good to know…

I found this in an old thread.
Thanks for pointing this out Marco, but can we all agree on this, you can pretty much hear whatever you want if you play anything backwards? I got a USB turntable for Christmas, I might have to start listening to my old albums backwards at the risk of what my wife and kids my think of me…😉

I think this thread has much LESS to do with playing music backwards and much MORE to do with whether the bands made some sort of ritualistic dedications to songs in studio while they were recorded…whether they say anything backward or not!! 😉

There were many stories growing up about the Stones and Zepplin and a few others.

I have forgotten most of them but remember a few that urban legend gets mixed up with fact.

During a Stones concert in I think 1968 they were playing Sympathy and some guy got killed by the ‘security detail’ of Hells Angelss. That is fact.

The image/object on the cover of Zepplins Presence album was rumored to be satanic.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

There were also rumors that Zepplin made a pact with satan to be successful. One of the members (Page) did buy a warlocks home- Alister Crowley’s but has since sold it.

Ozzy has a solo song about Crowley too but I think it was all mostly if not all theactrical spin.

I remember hearing Ozzy with Black Sabbath had lawyers in the studio when they recorded a song called Megolomania, but I dont know if that is true or for what reason but I was told it had to do with satan. That was the rumor at least.

You’re absolutely correct, sorry all for getting off track!

Many, unfortunately. They will eventually however, attract the type of karma they promote. That’s what life is all about - learning what happens to you when you promote good, and learning what happens when you promote the worst.
I seem to remember Father Corapi mentioning being in studio when I think the Rolling Stones recorded a song to the devil. Or perhaps Led Zeppelin? Does anyone know about this? Do I remember correctly? What bands are known to dedicate songs like this??

What happens when you play it backwards?
sorry it took so long to reply- it says stuff like “I wanna live it backwards like the Zep (led zeppliln) whose power is satan” there’s actually a few paragraph length things like this. someone played it backwards for me once, unless he was just messing with me somehow, it has all sorts of stuff in it. very bizzar. I think acdc has a few phrases in one of thier songs, madonna too, though i do not think that the artists were even aware of the playing backwards thing. I don’t think that it is something that you could plan- and if you could you deserve somekind of medal for being an audio recording genius.

In my teens I went to a friend’s house and we played a lot of records backwards. we didn’t hear anythign on most of them but I heard what sounded like pretty innocuous messages on one from Billy Joel, and one from some acid-rock group I knew nothing about. The second one said, “We grow a fortune in our home and you can too.” Anyone know who that was? The Billy Joel record said, “You’ll see her downtown.” I thought it also said something like, “Don’t look at me that way.”

I found the quote I was looking for in the OP. The talk is Father Corapi’s "Call to Battle: Call to Prayer" from 1996. After talking about some of the evils going on, and immediately after telling about kids in elementary schools having sex, he said:Music…oh, some of you might think you know something about music. You don’t know anywhere near what I know about it. None of you have been in a recording booth with Led Zepplin or the Rolling Stones or Black Sabbath. I have. None of you have been there when they dedicated a new album to Satan. I have. None of you have been there when they dedicated their lives and gave themselves over to the Prince of Darkness. I’ve been there! And so don’t tell me that I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’ve been there and you haven’t. And I’m telling you that the devil uses a certain kind of music to dispose us to evil. I was there. And I can tell you that sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll really do go together.

I own all of Led Zepplin’s albums and I used to be a big fan. However, based on what I’ve read about the band’s involvement with the occult, I have stopped listening to them as much; it just feels wrong.

Everyone knows that Jimmy Page was an avid occultist. For this reason, I find it hard to believe that his music has no occult influence. Occult practices held a prominent place in his life, and it only makes sense to assume that his music was influenced by his occultic beliefs.

I’m not saying that Page was a Satanist, but I am saying that his beliefs are opposed to Christianity. Pagan beliefs and practices open the door to evil; it does not matter that pagans may not subscribe to the Christian world view.

I still like the music, but I can’t help but feel that there is something sinister about it.

I hear what you mean. The music itself feels like a type of anti-sacramental. While prayer to God is attached to, say, holy water being used, so too is there a certain sense of attachment to music if a “dark” blessing was dedicated to it. Although I’m not sure the extent of dark influences able to attach to sounds. As sacramentals revolve around material things, so too would I think an anti-sacramental would have to be. Still, as you said, there is something unsettling about it.

I don’t know if it’s psychological but, as I said previously, there is something quite unsettling about the music. I haven’t felt the same about the Rolling Stones or any other band, although I refuse to listen to death metal or anything like that; I don’t even view that as music; it’s just noise.

well i’m not well versed in this subject, i had some friends who’s psychology teacher mentioned that several popular songs from this time period (can’t remember which songs right off hand, although i would like to say “Stairway to Heaven” by don’t quote me on this) held satanic messages when played backwards. I have heard this elsewhere, but don’t remember which songs for sure.

  • I used to be a rock musician.
  • I did write songs alluding to Lucifer/The Devil.
  • I had a stage name with the word ‘Lucifer’ in it.
  • I did a gig once in which I had the picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with black tape over His eyes, like the S*x Pistols picture of the Queen.
Why did I do it?
  • To gain infamy, and thereby make money.
  • Because I was an avid reader of occult books, and had notions of becoming a magician (ha!)
  • Because I was a post-Vatican II kid - schooled by Bothers and Nuns, and still ignorant of things like the Brown Scapular and Plenary Indulgences. And reality of Hell, most of all, and the odds of going there.
  • Had no notion of what a Latin Mass was like. No idea of the practical mysticism of the Saints of the Church. Barely heard of Padre Pio. Or maybe I was just closed off to it all.
  • Thought Lucifer was a charming old rebel; all that Gnostic-Kaballistic-Neo-Pagan b**ls*it.
I then read the works of, and about, a Cypriot Christian-Gnostic mystic, which in turn lead me on books about Orthodox mysticism i.e. Mount Athos, and thence back to Catholicism.

Funnily enough, it was the (unapproved) Malachi Martin book and the Bayside site that recently *really * made me realise how utterly stupid I’d been.

I sometimes wonder what was going through the head of the young man I was. And then I know: Pride, and its sister, Vanity. And Greed.

And the lesson?: **Occultism seems glamourous, until you find out it puts people in the care of psychiatrists, with ‘illnesses’ they can’t cure. You can pick up a ‘tenant’ you can’t evict. Then the horror begins.
**

For myself, I now have a few notions in my heart I wish were not there. Got off lightly, if what I’ve read about other ‘occult dilletantes’ is true.

All seems a little paranoid. Death metal and speed metal etc…it’s trash.

Hopefully the teens will move away from that sorry excuse for music and move on to something good.

PS: You can’t write hymns to a rock rhythm. It truly is the Devil’s music. Rock music and Christianity just don’t work together.
