@roseeu

Or because he’s fun to sing about.

Plenty of bands might sing about the devil and not actually believe in a devil. It’s taken literally or figuratively, depending on the listener.

@OP:

A lot of music has shifted to immoral content. There are a variety of reasons for this:

Anything that appeals to our baser senses & desires is easier to sell compared to something like Mozart.

Music naturally goes with a party/dance atmosphere, which in itself frequently leads to sin.

Music that is aggressive or provocative is usually better at milking euphoric chemicals in the brain.

So I would say a lot of music is spiritually harmful to a person, regardless of the age-old excuse of “I’m big enough to know better”. Dancing/partying is also an easy occasion for sin, which is why so many saints, including from the 20th century, have avoided it.

This is an unpopular opinion and it will remain an unpopular opinion for the rest of time, but it is rooted in logic and not fear or paranoia. Avoiding problematic media ultimately leads to peace and happiness, whereas indulging in every curiosity leads to unhappiness.

Just to be safe, you should only listen to Gregorian chants. Latin chants, obviously.
And never listen to jazz. Jazz is all the wrong notes and the fear of being loud, and everyone knows that fear and wrong are of the devil.

Haha. I actually do find Latin chants interesting and intriguing. But I think I’d die if that was ALL i listened to lol.

Edit: Okay, maybe not DIE, but still, I’d yearn for other music, even other Church music! I’ve also grown a liking for Christian Rock as well.

is this a joke? queen is extremely satanic. he mentions in multiple songs to be possessed by devils, that satan set aside a demon for him, dresses as Satan, we are the champions is about homosexuals, he was a cross dressing homosexual that died of aids.

he also claimed to have sold his soul and had a diamond glove he said was a gift from Satan himself.

oh and another lyric says to not trust what you read in the bible.

and the name queen is a reference itself to homosexuals

if you don’t believe this i can site YouTube videos you can see for yourself but I don’t recommend it.
🤣 Too much.

I like Queen. I’m 67 and have been listening to Rock almost all my life. I don’t think it’s harmed me spiritually at all. I stay away from some of the most extreme death metal, but Queen is good.

One of my favorite Queen songs, written by Brian May is”Teo Torrriatte (Let Us ClingTogether)”. I’d love to have the chorus written on a plate and glazed.
So I’m 54 and I’d never heard this song until a few minutes ago. OMG, it’s beautiful! That voice, it’s incomparable!

I hadn’t heard it in a long time so I just listened to it again, just now, and it still stirs up the feelings in my heart.

I just called a place where I’ve done a few glazed paintings on plates before but there’s no way I’d be able to paint out the chorus myself. I can’t even write out a birthday card, making it look beautiful.
So, I called the place where I’ve made my other items, only 1/2 expecting that someone could paint out and glaze the lyrics (just the chorus) for me and they can!

I’m going to have it made for a Christmas present for both my husband and I. I’m so excited! I’ve wanted to have that glazed onto a plate for YEARS.

Bush did 9/11 and Obama is putting chemicals in the water to turn frogs gay.

Saw it on YouTube so it must be true.

Just because one song by an artist is offensive doesn’t mean you have to reject everything by them.
This is pretty much my stance as well. Take, for example, Hollywood Undead. A lot of their songs are just absolutely terrible dredge, not fit to be heard by anyone. But then, they also have a song like Lion, which is the singer lamenting about not feeling able to be a good father to his child. It’s a really moving piece, at least to me.

Even artists that are generally bereft of anything good can occasionally produce something of value.

I think I love Queen so much because, while I didn’t have much feeling about them one way or another during high school, when Bohemian Rhapsody first came out, in fact, I thought the song was silly - I had no interest in opera.

Then after high school my OCD was still bad, during my grade school and high school years and, well, practically my whole lifetime been bad.
I had a really rough time after I graduated high school. Relationships ended, people went off into different directions. I was depressed, lonely and just had no idea what to do with myself.

It was a couple years after high school that I started getting into their music. I developed a huge crush on their drummer, Roger Taylor and I remember watching a concert of theirs on cable, with my mom. I think I was mesmerized with how awesome I thought they were.

And some of their songs —- just wow. Is anyone familiar with their song “Save Me”? It’s another one of my favorites.

you’re trying to tell me people go on the internet and make up lies???

the video in question linked above has Freddy himself speaking the parts mentioned.

now obviously, people can say whatever they want on a video.

but here, it’s straight from his mouth. he also says he would rather go to hell than heaven.

why not cite this? it’s straight from the horses mouth.

1:11 is the first instance where he speaks about his glove from Satan

“they don’t believe me” he says. hmm
The narrator lost all credibility as soon as he claimed to know what “Bohemian Rhapsody” is about. If there is one thing that unites us as a species, it’s that we haven’t a clue what Freddie was trying to convey through that song, aside from the fact that he could make banger music. The real meaning of BoRha is one of the great unsolved mysteries, up there with what happened to the dinosaurs and who was really behind 9/11 (note to all the Alex Jones fans on this thread: it was Osama).

You ever heard of the concept of a “joke”?

FWIW, saying you’d rather go to hell because there will be more interesting people there is a stock response that atheists/non-believers like to give to evangelists. That doesn’t mean they literally choose hell over heaven, because they most likely believe in neither.

During an interview Freddie was very evasive about the lyrics and I think he compared them to poetry, where it means whatever it means to the listener.

first, don’t tell me what to do. second, the video linked is Freddy himself speaking the parts I mentioned.

what a foolish thing to say.

not surprising from a guy with an avatar of a man that drinks his own piss and whose show was confirmed fake.
🤨 You okay dude?
