Ahahaha. Don’t make me sin, brothers and sisters.

He has absolutely no reason to even want to emulate Vader. He should know Vader went good in the end. His character has absolutely no reason to exist.

He’s hopelessly contrived and a terrible concept.

As for this franchise:

Please - the gross image was pointless.

Right. Anyone can simply ignore what pieces of the lore they don’t like. It ain’t Divine Revelation. 😉

I always enjoyed the Star Wars movies, but never to the extent that I got into any of the Expanded Universe material. So the new movies don’t mess with any prior imagery and/or conceptions of how the story ought to go.

This new one looks interesting. It’s an excuse to go back to near the time of the first movie without having to worry about messing with beloved characters. Makes sense.

I never got too deep into the EU. I read Zahn’s “Heir to the Empire” trilogy of books back in the '90s, and while it would have been great if they based the new movies on that, I’m not torn up that Disney decided to declare it “non-canon”.

I do like the general idea of the spinoff movies such as Rogue One. It could be fun to explore other parts of the Star Wars saga, with a focus on less familiar characters. It’s a big galaxy.

Right. One of the things that impressed me as a kid about the original trilogy was how they had action figures (with names) for characters you just see in passing in the Cantina scene and other such places. There are a lot of characters, but the films never give them much attention because the story isn’t about them. But there is a lot of room for exploration for these lesser known characters.

Yep. Who can forget Hammerhead?

Even though it’s not considered “canon” now, there is a book with a collection of stories about the various characters/aliens from the Mos Eisley Cantina. The book is called “Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina.” There are similar books about the bounty hunters from Empire Strikes Back, and Jabba’s associates in ROTJ.

For a second, I thought it was the original actress. Then I remembered she would be around 80 now.

Great casting choice though. Whoever that actress is, she nailed the body language and voice of Mon Mothma.
Caroline Blakiston played Mon Mothma in Return of the Jedi and yes, she is now 83 years old. The new actress is Genevieve O’Reilly (who is 39).

The new actress played mon mothma in episode 3 (if you blink you miss her) . All her actual speaking scenes in that were deleted. Glad they brought her back.

None of the newer movies so far have been as good as the original trilogy, but I still like the Star Wars universe. I will probably read the book instead of watch the movie though. These days I like reading more than watching. I have enjoyed several of the Star Wars novels and will probably continue to favor them over the films.

I know this isn’t exactly Rogue One related, but this pic showed up in my Facebook feed, and it’s just too awesome not to share.

I guess Luke really has become Yoda. 😛

Why was my post deleted?

I hope this fails but of course it won’t happen because Nu Star Wars is sustained by diabolical power.
