Role of the Deacon

What exactly is the role of the Deacon in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass?
 
To assist the priest or Bishop celebrant by responding to the prayers at the foot of the altar. He proclaims the Gospel. He is assisted by the subdeacon. He ministers at the missal and is almost always beside the priest celebrant.
 
In addition to what the abobe poster wrote, to prepare the altar and vessels for the offertory, and give the dismissal at the end of Mass. He does these at the OF Mass, as well. But this is done only at Solemn Masses, where there are deacon and subdeacon. Otherwise he remains in choir.
