Well Said

To Mary through Jesus: Behold, your mother! (Jn 19:27).

To Jesus through Mary: Do whatever he tells you (Jn 2:5).

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she (Mary) shall crush thy (satan) head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel. Hope you come to realize the Truth.
Galatians 4:26 But the other woman corresponds to the Jerusalem above; she is free and she is our mother ( MARY).

Consoling indeed are the promises of help made by Jesus Christ to those who have devotion to the name of Mary; for one day in the hearing of St. Bridget, He promised His most holy Mother that He would grant three special graces to those who invoke that holy name with confidence; first, that He would grant them perfect sorrow for their sins; secondly, that their crimes should be atoned for; and, thirdly, that He would give them strength to attain perfection, and at length the glory of paradise. And then our Divine Saviour added: “For thy words, O My Mother, are so sweet and agreeable to Me, that I cannot deny what thou askest.”
St. Ephrem goes so far as to say, “that the name of Mary is the key of the gates of heaven,” in the hands of those who devoutly invoke it. And thus it is not without reason that St. Bonaventure says “that Mary is the salvation of all who call upon her.” “O most sweet name! O Mary, what must thou thyself be, since thy name alone is thus amiable and gracious,” exclaims Blessed Henry Suso.
Let us therefore, always take advantage of the beautiful advice given to us by St. Bernard, in these words: “In dangers, in perplexities, in doubtful cases, think of Mary, call on Mary; let her not leave thy lips; let her not depart from thy heart.”

Names of Jesus and Mary

In every danger of forfeiting divine grace, we should think of Mary, and invoke her name, together with that of Jesus; FOR THESE TOW NAMES ALWAYS GO TOGETHER. O, then, never let us permit these two most sweet names to leave our hearts, or be off our lips; for they will give us strength no only to yield, but to conquer all our temptations.
“The invocation of the sacred names of Jesus and Mary,” says Thomas a Kempis, “is a short prayer which is as sweet to the mind, and as powerful to protect those who use it against the enemies of their salvation, as it is easy to remember.”

Yes, I do still pray to Mary, but it’s been very habitual lately
Thing is, I know it would please God if I talked to Mary more, but I’m very…apprehensive for some reason.

Today, as I was in adoration, I read (nearly all) of Saint Louis Marie De Montfort’s ‘True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin’. I read a few lines that were startling to me… (on having Mary as mediator between man and the Son)

"But have we no need at all of a mediator with the Mediator himself? Are we pure enough to be united directly to Christ without any help? Is Jesus not God, equal in every way to the Father? Therefore is he not the Holy of Holies, having a right to the same respect as his Father? If in his infinite love he became our security and our Mediator with his Father, whom he wished to appease in order to redeem us from our debts, should we on that account show him less respect and have less regard for the majesty and holiness of his person?..
…According to them, (referring to St. Bernard and St. Bonaventure) we have three steps to take in order to reach God. The first, nearest to us and most suited to our capacity, is Mary; the second is Jesus Christ; the third is God the Father. To go to Jesus, we should go to Mary, our mediatrix of intercession. To go to God the Father, we must go to Jesus, our Mediator of redemption.’’ (pages 14-15)

This is a tough pill to swallow for me. Yes, we are not worthy to be in His holiest of presence, but wasn’t it He who wanted us to come as we are regardless? Are they saying we should not speak to Him simply and directly as with a dearest of friend or family member…but should constantly relay messages through someone else, or, according to our Lord’s words to St. Faustina: "Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet."

I should love His mother more because I know it would please Him, but I’m scared to for some reason…I’ve never been this scared to until now… like, I’m afraid of losing the joy of talking to Christ heart to heart, if I would supposedly have to go through someone else…talking to Christ as my truest love, my Shepherd, my refuge…Like, I don’t want to feel like I can’t talk to Him. That would be like ripping my heart out… Why am I so worried all of a sudden? 😦

In the tribunal of the divine will, as the inevitable source and universal cause of the whole creation, all things with their conditions and circumstances, are decreed and determined, so that nothing is forgotten and no created power can in the least impede the fulfillment of the decree. All the spheres and the inhabitants contained in them are dependent on this ineffable government that rules them and cooperates with the natural causes unfailingly and unerringly in all that must be done. God works in all and sustains all by his sole will; in Him lies the preservation of all things or their annihilation, for without Him they would return to the non-existence, from which they were drawn. But since He has created the universe for his glory and for the glory of the incarnate Word, therefore He has from the beginning opened the paths and prearranged the ways by which the same Word should lower Himself to assume human flesh and to live among men, and by which they might ascend toward God, know Him, fear Him, seek Him, serve Him, love Him, praise Him and enjoy Him eternally. As the opportune and preordained time had arrived, the three divine Persons conferred with each other saying: "Now is the time to begin the work of our pleasure and to call into existence that pure Creature and that soul, which is to find grace in our eyes above all the rest. Let Us furnish Her with richest gifts and let Us deposit in Her the great treasures of our grace. Since all others, whom We called into existence, have turned out ungrateful and rebellious to our wishes, frustrating our intention and impeding by their own fault our purpose, namely, that they conserve themselves in the happy state of their first parents, and since it is not proper, that our will should be entirely frustrated, let Us therefore create this being in entire sanctity and perfection, so that the disorder of the first sin shall have no part in Her. Let Us create a soul according to our pleasure, a fruit of our attributes, a marvel of our infinite power, without touch or blemish of the sin of Adam. Let Us perfect a work which is the object of our Omnipotence and a pattern of the perfection intended for our children, and the finishing crown of creation. All have sinned in the free will and resolve of the first man (Rom. 5, 12); let Her be the sole creature in whom We restore and execute that which they in their aberration have lost. Let Her be a most special image and likeness of our Divinity and let Her be in our presence for all eternity the culmination of our goodwill and pleasure. In Her We deposit all the prerogatives and graces which in our first and conditional resolve We had destined for the angels and men, if they had remained in their first estate.

Some people here have difficulty reading what you have written because it is single spaced and lengthy. Why not just leave the link for those interested in reading the chapters in the books?

Thank you. I can read it much easier this way. I would have skipped the whole post because I thought the link was in addition to what you wrote.
