We’re not bound to believe that, nor to believe in any apparition. The Church calls some apparitions “worthy of belief,” not “to be believed.” So, you may, to be sure, believe that, or not, in good conscience.

Why would you choose not to believe that Our Lady appeared at Fatima?

The only apparition I put any credence in is Lourdes because there were verified miraculous cures attached to it. I have no reason to accept any of the others, and don’t. The whole business about three letters, conversion of Russia to Catholicism (really???), and a lack of miraculous cures turns me off. That said, I don’t scoff at those who would accept it. Each to his own taste and acceptance.

I’m pretty sure the tens of thousands that witnessed the behaviour of the sun that day should surely serve its purpose as confirmation of the visits. But even if you don’t want to take that, there are confirmed reports of miraculous cures with Our Lady of Fatima.

And what’s so unbelievable about the conversion of Russia? Is this outside of God’s power? They will convert.
