I stumbled upon this site
romancatholicwomenpriests.org/
is this site genuine? Are there really woman priests, bishops and decons appointed by our Pope?
If it is NOT true then why doesnt our Church take legal action to stop this Organisation?

No.

They are already excommunicated, if they were ever Catholic to begin with. Other than that, there is very little we can do, since anyone can start up a religion, and call it anything they want to call it.

The site is genuine, but they are not genuine priests. These “ordinations” all take place without the approval of the Church or the local bishop. They offer some seriously flawed arguments based on a revisionist view of history. (For the antidote, see Fr. Most’s article).

The first batch of women “priests” were formally excommunicated. I believe that all subsequent groups are excommunicated automatically when they attempt to undergo this “ordination”. In 2006 (I believe) there was a group that was “ordained” in Pittsburgh. As per their MO, the ceremony took place on a boat on the river. Well in advance, Bishop Wuerl sent a letter to the woman from Pittsburgh who planned on being “ordained” appraising her of the seriousness of this act. A letter was also sent out to all the priests and religious in the area informing them that they were not to attend this event.

As far as legal action, I’m not sure what they can do. They can appeal to canon law and have them excommunicated, but as far as the US law is concerned, I don’t know that anyone owns the rights to the term “Roman Catholic”.

Also, FYI, the group claims that an anonymous bishop performed the first set of “ordinations”. Even if this claim is true, the women are not valid priests because, as the Church teaches, it is simply not possible for a woman to be a priest. Even if it was attempted, the resulting “ordination” would not result in a valid priest.

Run, don’t walk, from this organization!

As I posted in your duplicate post:

If this is not “legal action” I don’t know what you would call it…

On the delict of attempted sacred ordination of a woman

It says in part
"Without prejudice to the prescript of can. 1378 of the Code of Canon Law
, both the one who attempts to confer a sacred order on a woman, and the woman who attempts to receive a sacred order, incur an excommunication latae sententiae reserved to the Apostolic See."I think that is pretty clear and concise!

Which is exactly why you should!👍

sorry about the duplicate post, i use my outdated k510 sony ericsson to post and check this site and sometimes i says ‘message not posted’ so i try another forum then eventually both posts appear, its quite annoying.

These poor, poor women…

Taking just about any “action” allows them to act like martyrs in some circles so the Church largely remains mum.

NO They are not sanctioned by, nor are they a part of the Roman Catholic Church. If they were Catholic before they went through the motions of ordination, instead of receiving the sacrament, they were automatically excommunicated.

Ruth Broeski (bridgetmarys.blogspot.com/2008/06/roman-catholic-women-ordain-two-women.html) and Toni Tortorilla (oregonlive.com/living/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/living/1213656902208370.xml&coll=7), both of whom have attempted ordination at the same church in Gresham, Oregon, also attempted marriage to each other during the short period when Multnomah County was handing out marriage licenses to same-sex couples (ohs.org/education/oregonhistory/historical_records/dspDocument.cfm?doc_ID=1DC678AE-099E-A94F-80005C702C61FEFB). (These marriages were later declared null by the state.)

IOW, they are not only women attempting ordination, but a couple of actively gay women who imagine they are married to each other, both attempting ordination. They’re kind of going for a trifecta of sorts, you might say.

In spite of what its name might imply, Womenpriests has also attempted to ordain men who have been divorced and re-married. According to the Oregonian, when asked about the automatic excommunication incurred by women who attempt ordination, they replied that they “rejected” the excommunication. (see Toni Tortorilla, above).

These fellow Catholics (they have rightly noted that nothing they do can remove the mark of their baptism) and their consciences are not just a little ways out there. Nevertheless, the Archbishop has expressed sadness that they felt a need to leave the Church in this manner and that the local Protestant church that hosted them did not seem to realize that this was also a matter of respecting the local Roman Catholic Church. I cannot imagine that he could possibly be more gracious in his appraisal of the situation than he has been (sentinel.org/node/8251).
While being clear that there is no room for discussion on the topic, Archbishop Vlazny has been clear that he wants these women to return to full communion. I don’t see how that is going to happen. Still, while some will differ with me, I am thankful for his continuing concern for their souls.

this thread title is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as a Catholic woman priest.

People say it, anyway, because they want to imagine such a thing exists. Kind of like the term “non-fat half-n-half”.

These women are part of the Secular Relativists that are bent on destroying Catholicism and Christianity since they see it as a threat to their perversions. The first thing Relativists do the revise history (much in the mode of the Da Vinci Code process) to meet their agenda and it shows on their site.

The ordination of women into the Anglican Rite brought a sharp decline in the discussions between Anglicans and the Holy Roman Catholic Church where possible reunification talks were taking place. It seems Old Satan sticks his head here and there to try and prevent any good works being done by man where he thinks he has an interest. While typing this, I had the ironic thought (and please do not say I am sexist because of it). It was Eve who convinced Adam to partake of the forbidden fruit, whatever it may have been. Mary did her part in correcting that for Eve. Now other feminist who want to do anything the men do, convinced Anglican bishops to ordain them as priests and now bishops. Satan knew those would not be valid ordinations. Now he works on Gay bishops, openly living in sin with their partners. Satan just does not stop. When I was taking a Canon Law course at a School of Theology here in my city, there was a married Anglican deacon from Panama, studying for the Anglican Priesthood taking the course with us. During one of the brakes, I asked him why he was in a Catholic Seminary instead of an Anglican one. He said he had been, but that when the Anglican Bishop up east got married to his gay partner, many of the Anglican bishops pulled their seminarians out of those Anglican seminaries and sent them to Catholic ones, knowing that thaty would be taught what was correct. That Anglican group was thinking what to do. Either form a new Anglican branch (for my own lack of a better word) or to seek reunification with the Catholic Church. I have since been praying for this, but do not know yet of what may have transpired.

Here is an excerpt from one of their homilies. No need to say more.
mmacc.org/

“But we can feed the spiritually starving of our time and there is bread with which to feed them. We can feed them, not with loaves and fish, but with hope and prophetic disobedience. As impossible as it seems, we can feed them: feed them with the hope evoked by the restoration of women’s ordination; feed them with the hope of restoration of a discipleship of equals; feed them with the hope of a church renewed; feed them with our prophetic disobedience as we challenge the institution to practice inclusion rather than exclusion, to embrace women and married priests, gay & lesbian people & priests, divorced and remarried people, to welcome all at the table. We can feed them with hope as we respect tradition and traditionalists but engage in ecumenism and inter-faith work. We can feed them with our willingness to accept the consequences of prophetic disobedience with dignity and courage. Hope, prophetic disobedience, inclusion - ingredients of the food that is the bread of God.”

I find that excerpt from the homily absolutely incredible and greratly disturbing. . I could not believe that anyone would be so stupid to say such a thing, and others even more stupid to buy into it. Never mind the commandments. Never mind God’s law. Never mind any kind of morality. Never mind that anything goes. WOW LOL These people need prayers BIG time. They are on one of the steepest slippery slopes I have ever seen Y’all pray and pray hard for them. My God, they need it.

Someone once told me that there were woman priest in the early catholic church

I didn’t want to start a fight so I didn’t ask for proof…Has anyone ever heard of this claim before?

People even say there was a Pope Joan, which there was not. Saying things, does not make them so. Its funny how people always challenge you to prove a negative. Think about it.
