Roman Rite Baptism in Eastern Catholic Church

Hello, I am a Roman Rite Catholic. I love very much the tridentine rite and I want to baptize my child in the extraordinary form. However, the priest that celebrates tridentine mass closes to me, got authorization only from a local Eastern Catholic Church to celebrate the baptism. So, he would celebrate the baptism in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite but it would be registered in a Eastern Catholic Church parish. There is any problem with that since I am a Roman Rite Catholic? Is it wrong or not ideal in any form?
 
Thanks. But in my case, the baptism would be still in the roman rite, just in an eastern catholic parish.
 
If the parents are married. If not, then the child takes the mother’s Church (Latin or Eastern). And, if memory serves, at the time of the baptism, the parents have the ability to override the default and declare that they wish the child to be baptized into a rite other than theirs.
 
You mean registered in a rite different of the, right? Because the baptism will be in the priest’s rite…
 
He may have been referring to a particular situation, in which the couple was married. 😉
 
It doesn’t matter. The rite used does NOT determine canonical enrolment. That is generally determined by the rite of the Father.

Yeah. But the rite of the Church and the particular liturgical form do not determine the rite of the Church into which the child is baptized. The rite of parent is what is determinative.
 
Even that isn’t the end . . . at the time of baptism, the parents may request enrollment in a different church! So father’s rite, unless not catholic; in which case mother’s; but requested rite trumps either.

What he told you used to be the whole rule . . . and remains the default.

Can the Eastern bishop or priest give permission for that?

Clearly, the baptism can be conduced in that church’s rite, but the EC being able to grant permission for EF ritual does’t ring true . . . why can’t the EF priest do it where he celebrates the EF?

E.g., an an RC father and Melkite mother might prefer to enroll the child in the UC church they attend when there Is no other locally.

Or, if the father is RC and the mother EC, they might prefer that.

Or . . .
