Romance Breakers…

• Complain about spending time with her
• Yawn and complain of being tired
• Listen to her only during commercial breaks
• Say “No, not really” when she asks if you want to talk
• Say “Nothing” when she asks what’s on your mind
• Forget to notice her new haircut
Don’t regularly bathe.

Can you think of any others?

Of course, reverse it and romance may possibly be in the air.😉

I’d rather not think of any.

I’m the kind of guy who has seen all the crud that other guys do, and resolved to not do it myself.

I don’t want to give anyone any news ideas to TRY to annoy their wife or girlfriend…

Don’t regularly bathe…ya think? lol! :rotfl:

Ah…forgetting to notice my new haircut, is grounds for the sofa…kidding. But, I like when my husband not only notices, but raves over my new do.:blushing:

Saying, “Go on, I’m listening” while his eyes and mind are focused on the TV, the car he’s working on, or some other woman who just walked by.:nope:

But it’s okay if he says it while doing the dishes, folding laundry or cleaning the cat litter pan! :yup: 😃

Yeah… don’t brush teeth regularly… other than that… you almost described my ex… except we would also have to add… call her a Biotch, tell her she’s fat, spend all your money on yourself and don’t offer to take her out, etc… oh wait… that was stuff after the wedding… and they say women change!

dance with other women at a club or reception, but be too tired to dance with her

… or claim you don’t like to dance, you were just being polite! (when he extends courtesy to other women he does not extend to her… can you say “lack of respect”???)

I’m guessing that many on here are going on their own experiences, or those they’ve heard from others close to them!

It makes me rather sad to think that my accursed gender has done such things to those who are deserving of better treatment
😦

Well, if it’s any consolation, I happen to believe that not a few women are responsible for creating the monsters they complain about! My DH’s ex-wife is a case in point… luckily he got out before too much damage was done and the fact that my DH is an absolute GEM is proof enough that there were serious psychological impediments to his first marriage’s validity (yeah, she had to be nuts to let him go!)

Sometimes I don’t treat him as well as I should, but it’s a credit to him that he has NEVER taken out his pain from his first marriage on me… no matter how badly I deserved it! I am truly blessed!

'scuse me, gotta go hug him now!:hug3:

That’s a capital offence, but in my experience women do that more often than men. I beg your pardon if this sounds bitter enough as to appear rather unkind. It’s basically one of the things I was the most frustrated over when I was younger. It was giving me headaches to no end. Up to this day, clubs are one of the most stressful things to me for this reason.

To add to the Opening Poster’s list: 😉
  • fail to notice when she’s needing space, and give it to her, and you’re cooked;
  • fail to adapt from giving her space to giving up your space and smothering her with attention relentlessly just after she was requiring you to distance yourself for a while - and you’re cooked;
  • point out fluid transition described in #2 is rather outside the realm of human ability and you’re cooked;

Forget to notice her new haircut

Considering that I get my hair cut an average of every 2 years, my boyfriend doesn’t have to worry about this one. When I do cut it I do Locks of Love, so it’s a pretty drastic change (and thus noticeable to anyone and everyone). I’m not sure if I’m going to do that again, though, because I think Boyfriend would be traumatized if most of my hair disappeared.
The opposite of not noticing the new haircut is saying, “I’ll call you back if I think of anything else I want to tell you,” and a couple hours later calling and saying, “Your hair is beautiful.” (and going on to give a poetic description of said hair) 🙂 😊

Romance breakers are bilateral, with respect to gender.

Both men and women can become too preoccupied to give proper attention and respect to their partner. Usually, this is unintentional. Most folks are not mean, rather they can be thoughtless at times.

We can find humor in the blunders, that make us all human.

Better that, than to generate conflictual mountains, from silly molehills.

My neighbor married for over 30 years just cut her hair 12 inches or more just a couple days ago. Her kids all noticed but she said her husband did not and she was greatly disappointed since she notices his all the time. Wake up guys…this meant a lot to her and she’s in a happy relationship. It’s a simple thing for most of us too.😉

Work more than 60 hours/wk…no time for romance, just work, eat, and sleep…now I have an EX-wife.

Remember, it is a scientifically documented fact that no husband was ever murdered by his wife while doing the chores! :yup: 😃

Chores are no problem for me 😃

Trust me, guys notice it! Basically, men don’t want women to cut their hair, ever! Or maybe that’s just me. And if we don’t like it, we’ve learned to keep our mouths shut.

Hah, there is much truth to it, but on the other hand, some of us like surprises. I used to like exclusively long hair on women until I noticed that there were some very nice short cuts and that some women actually looked better in those than in the longer ones. Just as long as it’s not a male haircut, it’s not the end of the world. Personally, I like change. As long as it’s not a sudden and ground-breaking one for the worse. Sudden and ground-breaking change for the better will slowly be accepted given time to adjust. 😛

You mean you prefer long hair on women, I’m guessing.

For a few years I had hair down to my waist - it was a total pain! Took tonnes of shampoo and conditioner, a very long time to blowdry, there were only limited ways I could wear it and it got EVERYWHERE and in EVERYTHING!

I think older women generally look younger and more attractive with shorter hair.

The hair thing is so strange-it’s true!!

I’ve never dated a man who didn’t object when I wanted to cut my hair! And it’s not like I was going short-I just wanted to change the style!
