I am interested in what people think of Romans 12 and how it applies in 2018. Perhaps we could start with the opening passage. What does it mean in concrete terms?
How does it relate to Mt 16:24-25?Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
To me these are some of the most profound and moving passages in all of scripture.24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
