One translation of Rom. 4. 3 (Oxford) is: For what does Scripture say?
Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
I truly believe that this is saying: Abraham’s faith was measured by God’s righteousness and declared righteous.
In other words, Abraham’s faith had matured and now declared good, acceptable or the way humans beings should be.
