look for an outline of the book of romans online because the interpretation of romans 7 must line up with the flow and message of the book itself. Since, romans 1 already speaks against same sex attration as being a strong delusion, then an interpretation of romans 7 would not contradict chapter one.
Also, the interpretation of romans 7 would have to be inline with temptation in the rest of the NT.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
So, with romans 7 emphasize the victory over temptation in romans 8. Admit the fact of their sexual temptation. And, point out that one is NOT to give into their temptations. There are people who are tempted to have sex with children, others with animals, others incest, others with their step mother ( I think I cor 7 ), all are tempted with somekind of temptation, but we are not to give in.
Romans 8
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Point out Rom 12, we are to kill the flesh daily, that in romans 8, no chapter and verse divisions before the geniva bible in the 1500’s. So, chapter 8 is a continuation of the argument of chapter 7.
