Roommates watching sexual content. Pray

I just came home from confession and it was clear that the Enemy didn’t like it. My roommates (all of a sudden) began to watch some “sexual documentary” with explicit scenes. They were inviting me to come and watch this “educational stuff”. I refused. I have enough education, I said. They’re watching it right here in this room. Of course, I have positioned myself such that I cannot see it, and I’ve also got some spiritual music playing in my earphones.

Just pray that God may give me strength during this (and any similar future) circumstance. Also, I told them that they should watch Jason Evert’s Romance without Regret, if they really wanted some education. Pray for that too.

Satan definitely doesn’t like us going to confession, Stay strong, pray and do what your doing and try to keep it from your mind. Believe me the sins of the flesh are some of the hardest to resist and if you ever give in the hardest to overcome. I’ll pray with you and ask the Virgin Mother to intercede on your behalf. :crossrc::angel1:

I recall reading the story of a POW in Viet Nam who was tied to an outside pole that had a loud speaker attached, and the volume was turned to the max and the continuous blaring began to have serious effects on his mental state, so he prayed to God for relief and the speaker stopped working. The Viet Namese were never able to get it to work again.
I will pray that God will strike their TV set with which they tempt you to sin.
 
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you amongst women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death.

Dear Heavenly Father, please protect my brother in Christ from temptation and help him to be a faithful and charitable witness to his room mates. Lord, bring them to him with any questions or concerns and prepare him for Your work. Equip him, Father, so that he can act in accordance to Your will and, above all else, let Your will be done.
 
Why do you live w/people who you seem to have such a problem with? If this is such a problem maybe you should find other roommates.
 
Ugh, so sorry Wesley, that you’re having to deal with that. Prayers for you to remain strong, and for your roommates to see the wrong in viewing that stuff. :gopray:
 
just said a lil’ prayer wesley, i know how rough it is my brothers house is pretty hectick too with all kinds of crazy things going on. bad music (music i sometimes listen too though i cant deny that) the tv shows, the dvds, this that and the other thing. which also effect nem all this technology these days is crazy and hectic, greater is he thats in you, than he thats in the world though. dont stop praying for peace in your house man. things will change, somethings will never change, but Jesus kills all that old stuff and makes all things new…i think that was one of his final things he said on the cross. i was a porn addict but Christ killed that in me when i prayed from my heart to change that. this is a craZy world we all live in aint it. Peace brotha.

Father, we ask that you would help this young man to remain strong & resist temptation. We ask that his roommates would follow his example and choose to turn away from sexual sin & towards you.
 
man that s one hell of a tough thing to avoid porn…i know how tough it is as i avoid it…i avoid porn carrying the thought without me living a good catholic life i can never make my closest friend whom i consider as elder sis who is not a christian, a good Catholic…its tough…u’ll feel like having a small glimpse to c whats going on jus to knw what they r watching…u may not feel like watching it but feel curious about whats going on…avoid all those thoughts… nd try not to say anything to them…u’ll get humiliated!! time will come when u can speak with them…Keep saying any prayer that makes you feel comfortable…

This is the first time this has happened. I’ve been here since a month now. This is not the norm. And they’re not bad people. They don’t force me to do anything if I don’t want to do it. It’s just that for them lust is not an issue. But I have made my position clear to them.
