So allowing priests to marry would allow for our CC to not be a “magnet” for homosexuals then??? What??? That doesn’t make any sense…I would love to see any documentation that proves your outrageous theory. My knowledge of homosexuals indicates that they don’t “go homosexual,” but rather that they are born that way. The priest that’s married with children is highly unlikely to be a homosexual. It’s really that simple.
The single celibate priesthoods of the Catholic churches and others effectively acts as a magnet for homosexuals, and has for centuries in my opinion.
Can any of you knowledgeable Catholics give me any OT or NT Scripture that dictates that Catholic priests be single and celibate please?

And as far as quoting scripture to dictate that priests must be single, well as I stated in a previous post, the CC relies on Scripture AND Tradition. It has been Tradition for Catholic priests to remain chaste and single. And as I stated in my earlier post, as a woman I would never want to be married to a priest. Our parish priest is so busy with his duties and taking care of his flock; a priest that is allowed to marry would not have time to give the appropriate time to his wife and children anyway. Besides, the priest is married to his Bride, the Church. His “offspring” so to speak would be the parishioners he guides to Christ.
