Those are the kind that I make, too…
Leah, where did you find the crucifix on the Hunter Green one? Is that from OLRM, or where? I like it very much with the #36 twine, it has more “substance” to it than some of the ones I have seen at Autom…
Zooey,

These are pictures from FNT’s website. I think Nada and Teena made them. I haven’t had a chance to take good pictures of the ones I’ve made. I’m just trying to get an idea of interest in twine rosaries.

The crucifix on the hunter green one is made from knots. I think there are instructions on how to make them on FNT’s website. I tried to make one at one time, but I’m not sure that they hold up as well as a metal or plastic crucifix. The crucifix on Auberginecow’s hunter green rosary on her blog looks likes it came from Autom. I probably have a bagfull somewhere. I think they are described as Ornate crucifixes.

Excuse me, but I think I know where I got my crucifix from, and it is sterling silver, and it is from Fire Mountain Gems, NOT Autom. The base metal crucifix on the tye dyed colors rosary (second picture on my blog) IS from Autom. I said in my previous post that I had goofed when I identified the parts on my original blog. I have since fixed the error, and provided links to the exact parts I used, (they did still have the crucifix, I said in my last post that I wasn’t sure) from the exact place I bought them from

I did make one of the rosaries on the FNT site as well, and it’s here: fnt-victory.net/RosaryTwineDyingProcess.html
It’s the last one on the page, made from twine I dyed with lime green koolaid.

EXCUSE ME! I did not intend to offend you. I apologize for not reading your response completely.

For those who don’t want to pay for an expensive Sterling silver crucifix, they can get similar ones at Autom.

EDIT: “silver tone metal crucifix.” That is exactly how you described the crucifix on the hunter green rosary on your blog. That is NOT sterling silver!

We now have a bluish-green (more like a pale blue-green) metal (I think it’s metal) rosary that used to belong to my Italian great-grandmother (Catholic), and my great-aunt (Catholic - she’s 94 years old!) gave it to my mom (Lutheran). Hopefully I get it someday.
