Rosary and Holy Week

Hello everyone. After I was praying the Rosary last night, I wondered if there were any special prayers to be said during the Triduum. Are there any you should leave out? Should I pray the Rosary at all? Am I supposed to pray the same as well as the same Mysteries? Thank you everyone. God Bless.

I typically pray the Rosary twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. During Holy Week, I plan to pray the Sorrowful Mysteries each morning to begin the day with Our Lord’s Passion in my mind, and the “regularly scheduled mysteries” 😉 each evening.

The Rosary is a PRIVATE devotion. You are not obliged to pray it at all (although I recommend everyone does as its a powerful prayer) and you can pray the Mysteries in any order you wish (the normal order is a suggested one).
 
Yes, I know the Rosay is a private devotion. I do pray it everynight though, and was mostly just wondering if the Church has any suggestions about praying it on the Triduum. (I agree, it is a very powerful prayer.) Thank you all very much. God Bless.

Hi Jacob. I have continued to pray the Rosary, all throughout Lent… using the Sorrowful Mysteries for each day. However, I did notice on EWTN that they were saying the regular mysteries for each day (i.e., Joyful on Monday, Glorious on Wednesday, Luminous on Thursday… etc.). After Lent, I will return to saying the various mysteries… for each day.

Do you include the prayer which goes: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins; Save us from the fires of hell; Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy Mercy”.

I believe this was taught to the children, by Our Lady of Fatima… during the apparitions there. It is a beautiful part of the Rosary… usually said, just after each “Glory Be”.

But I will now include it, for it is such a beautiful prayer. It goes right after the Glory Be, and right before you announce the Mystery? Thank you! God Bless.

If I say a Rosary during Holy Week, it usually is the Sorrowful Mysteries. However, there is also the Stations of the Cross and the Chaplet of Seven Sorrows (or Dolours, also known as the Servite Rosary).

Also, during Lent a local parish does the Stations of the Cross. Have you considered looking into that? Patrick457 has done a great job with pictures and all here on CAF.
