When people do the rosary, is it done using imagination of the scene for each of the mysteries?
How are the prayers done in a rosary?

That’s called Ignatian Meditation. If you’re into it, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of St. Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises.

There’s no right or wrong way to pray the Rosary; Everyone has their own unique style.

Amen, I like to pray the rosary with a song DVD.

Mary.

My favourite way of saying the rosary is the scripture rosary.

Between each Hail mary there is a passage from scripture that is read that focuses on that particular mystery to help with meditation.

I often pray along fully with the Laudate or Rosary app on my phone. I do especially like Melissa from Scriptural Rosary (dot com??), when she reads the Scripture verse before each Hail Mary. That keeps me more in the moment than I can when I’m on my own. There are also booklets/books/pamphlets that do the same thing.

Some people think of someone or something that they are praying for on each decade, or even Hail Mary. Sometimes I can barely concentrate on the prayers, let alone adding to them.

You can meditate with imagery, but there are many ways to meditate. I like to meditate on the words of the Hail Mary and the mystery at the same time – viewing the mystery through the Hail Mary, Mary’s eyes.

Sometimes if I am praying for a person I will ponder that person through each mystery, uniting their needs to the prayers. If I’m using imagery, I might imagine that person at the scene with me.
