Rosary and non-catholics

Okay…well this might be a really obvious/dumb question 🤷…but I was wondering if there’s anything wrong with a non-catholic saying the rosary? I honeslty don’t see why there would be…but I wanted to ask. I’m starting RCIA in the fall (I’ll be a candidate), so I’ll be Catholic eventually but I’m not yet. I have my grandma’s rosary and I would love to use it 🙂

Our Blessed Lady would love to have you pray it.
And you honor your grandmother by using hers. I wish I had my grandmother’s

It’s a favorite prayer of mine. As you get used to saying it, do try to meditate on the Mysteries. Its very powerful.

Go for it!! Grandma will be delighted and welcome home!
 
And not just the Rosary. Get a pamphet on The Novena of The Divine Mercey which begins on Good Friday, and the prayers are said on the Rosary as well. And while you are at it, go to www.queenship.org and order the small prayer pamphlet IN THE END MY IMMACULATE HEART WILL TRIUMPH
 
You are blessed to have such a grandmother. I hope you cherish her rosary and use it often. Obviously you belong with us:D
 
You are Blessed that you have your Grandmother’s Rosary. For years I carried my great grandmother’s Rosary. It came from Hungary when they immigrated in 1880. It was given to her by her mother when she was young, so I have no idea as to its true age but its old. when my oldest daughter was having problems I gave her that Rosary. She has since solved her troubles and still has the Rosary.

The Rosary is for ALL mankind not just for Catholics.

Absolutely nothing wrong. It’s not just for Catholics. 🙂
 
One of the biggest steps along my way to active Catholicism was a shrine where I picked up a free rosary–just a little plastic-and-cord one–mostly out of curiosity about rosaries in general.

I started praying it, and even though I’ve accumulated a few more rosaries along the way (like the one I got when I joined the Knights of Columbus), I still use that little cheapie more than any other, sentimentalist that I am…

Pray the beads, and see where it leads.
 
Absolutely pray the Rosary!

In our small town, there is a Baptist couple who have a special devotion to our Holy Mother. They attend once in a great while when the Rosary is being prayed on days/evenings not associated with a Mass following.
 
I think it would be a fine thing for you to pray with your Grandmother’s rosary beads.

I think that your grandmother looking down at you would find great joy. If Jesus is our brother. Then Mary is our spiritual mother! 🙂

There’s no magic in it. No praying for things material. It’s a prayer to Christ through Mary. Just like if I were to ask you to pray for me. The difference is that Mary doesn’t have the earthly distractions that interfere with our prayer.

She brings our prayers to Christ in perfect condition. Again…it’s not a magical devotion. We’re not promised earthly treasure from it…only heavenly treasure by having Mary carry our prayers undefiled to her Son! 🙂

I started praying the Rosary about 6 years before I started RCIA, when I wasn’t sure about converting. Like others said -your grandma would be pleased 🙂
 
This post is maybe a bit late, but I know what you feel and what you are going trough. I am not catholic and I am in the RCIA classes, but started the pray the rosary even before starting the classes. Its awesome. I also thought that maybe its wrong, but I felt such a strong need to pray it. Have not looked back since. It helps me every day and I pray it with my 2 year old son too. He knows it as Amen 🙂
 
The Rosary is an amazing… tool? I don’t know the right word to use here! But - if you feel the inclination to pray the Rosary each day, then do it! No one will condemn you from asking the Queen of Heaven to help you take your prayers to her beloved Son.

I think it’s doubly special that you have such a wonderful Rosary to pray on!

Tool, meditative device, prayer, etc. I have used all those and other words to describe the Rosary. 🙂
 
Proud Daily Prayer of the Rosary. Wish I had my Grandparents or my Parents Rosary.
