Is it fruitful to pray the rosary or novena when not in the state of grace?

It is always wise to pray and to pray always. If we sin gravely and cannot get to confession quickly, we should make an act of Perfect Contrition. We should not stop praying.

👍 Well said. Prayer is our conversation with God and if we stop praying, surely it makes matters worse by increasing our separation from Him. Keep praying!

I would say, pray always, for help, the Rosary is the Most powerful weapon we have to help us sinners, and the power to bring Peace to the world.
Novena,s also are good to say,it helps one,to change their live,s bye praying a Novena.

I think it’s always wise to pray, even when someone is in a state of mortal sin. Remember that God still loves us even when we are in sin and that the desire to pray is a grace of the Holy Spirit leading us to holiness. God works in mysterious ways, after all. I sometimes wonder if the prayers we say in a state of mortal sin are made fruitful after we go to Confession and are absolved. I’m not sure if the Church has stated anything about this.

Hope this helps. :blessyou:

Pax Christi!

Pray always, we are told. Always.

We have to attend Mass at least weekly, whether or not we are in a state of grace, and Holy Mass is the most powerful prayer there is.

Pray. Attend Mass.

And yes:Get to confession!

God bless.
