Is it okay to have a rosary blessed by more than one priest? I just rather like the thought of having my rosary blessed by different priests throughout my life… not in the belief that “one blessing is not sufficient,” but just for it to be a sort of testimony if you will to my Catholic journey.

Is this okay to do?

I wondered about this too. Thought it was kinda cool to have a rosary blessed several times. Just makes me feel better to know that so many holy men have laid hands on it and pronounced a blessing.

Precisely. And, for example, I have Three Priests that I tend to see in my hometown, and so I’d really like to have all Three have blessed my rosary at some point.

I can’t see how it can be wrong, unless one was doing it for some sort of prideful reason or thinking that it would get them into heaven or something like that.

I can’t see Jesus saying, “Oh, wait a minute guys. We almost missed it, this one had a rosary blessed more than once. Better send him to purgatory for a few centuries just to make sure he’s clean.” LOL

Hopefully someone more knowlegeable will respond.

It is not necessary to have a Rosary (or any sacramental) blessed more than once, but it sounds like you already know that. I also don’t think it matters which priest blesses a Rosary (one priest’s blessing is just as effective as another’s), so why do you feel the desire to have different priests bless the Rosary? It’s not as if it can be “more blessed”. Just like you can’t be “more baptized”. When a priest does something in the person of Christ, that should be good enough. You are receiving the blessing from Christ Himself. Once should be sufficient. Remember, it isn’t about the Priest - it’s about the blessing.

I have a great devotion to Padre Pio and I read about him whenever I can. I read somewhere that a woman brought a Rosary to him to be blessed. She thought it would be wonderful to have a Rosary blessed by the famous Padre Pio, so she didn’t tell him it was already blessed. Since Padre Pio was so gifted by Our Lord, he could tell it had already been blessed, so he refused to bless it again. That pius act of Padre Pio’s should give you an idea of whether or not having Rosaries blessed more than once is okay.

One can have a rosary blessed more than once…but I would not generally go around doing so…(making a habit of it)

more like for example if you are at an audience with the Pope or a Bishop…

their blessing is different than that of another priest…and in the case of a rosary, scapular, medal or crucifix (Cross) …there is a Plenary Indulgence attached to it for the Sol. of St. Peters and Paul…
