Hello:

Can anyone recommend a Rosary CD that does not have music or singing?

Thank you

I just did a search. YouTube has one. Mary Foundation has one for free on the Catholicity website… Amazon sells one called the “The Catholic Rosary-Pray the Rosary CD.” Good reviews, can’t wait to try.

I can vouch for the Catholicity CD. There is no singing, no music, and it also includes the Divine Mercy chaplet and some background material on the rosary. I pray along with it every morning on my way to work. It gets my day off to a good start and keeps me from swearing at reckless drivers. 🙂

This is the one that I use from the Mary Foundation. Free CD: Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet
I believe these are all referencing the same one; so I join these posters in recommending the one from the Mary Foundation.

The background afterwards, with Patrick Madrid, among others, is excellent.

One draw back however: when the mysteries are announced, all four mysteries (of each set of mysteries) are announced together, and no mediation is supplied.

e.g.–“The First Mystery: the Annunciation; the Baptism of our Lord; the Agony in the Garden; the Resurrection. Our Father…”.

As opposed to:

“The First Joyful Mystery: the Annunciation. [Insert applicable scriptural passage]; followed by [brief meditation on the Mystery]…Our Father…Hail Mary [x10]”…etc.

So it’s great for driving and such, but it’s not the most ‘complete’ Rosary guide.

Definitely worth having, and using, but not exclusively, as for genuine, prayerful meditation, when you really want to pray the Rosary, you’re better served with one that has the applicable scripture passages ready, and good, compelling meditations (e.g.–I have a booklet with scriptural passages, and meditations by St. Alphonus Liguori; very compelling…).

FWIW.
