Hello all,

I was going to procure a number of Rosary CD’s for people at my church, telling them it can be done while driving, exercising, cooking, etc.

I initially had some misgivings about the piety of doing so, until I read this thread:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=112840&highlight=outhouse

which showed that even praying while laying a steaming coil was not considered unduly impious.

So my question then is: does anyone regularly pray the rosary using CD’s, in particular while driving?

Is this somewhat dangerous? Does it feel somewhat ineffective?

Anyone?

I do it all of the time. I have a 30 minute commute both ways, and I pop in a rosary CD and pray to and from work every day.

You’ve never felt it dangerous, you know, akin to talking on a cell phone while driving?

Or, you’ve never felt that you just didn’t put in enough effort, or get enough out of it?

In other words, it’s really worthwhile to do?

Not while driving, not here in Los Angeles. I also keep the radio off, to better concentrate on the drivers around me, thus avoiding making rude fingure gestures that I have to do penance for later on.😦

At home, I love my rosary CDs, My current favorite are the 2 CDs by Father Benedict J. Groeschel CFR:thumbsup:

I do it while driving or on the train home from work. Never found it dangerous, in fact I find myself being more calm towards other drivers 😃

However feeling like I didnt put in enough effort is a problem for me, but its not because of doing the rosary while driving, I feel like I let God down everyday in every way.

😃 I have one a friend gave me but the one I listen to at night is Gretchen harris with four priests accoompany her on the lead. I also have a hard time driving and listening or praying but even kept on the quiet side is very restfull better than all the talk on the fm station. I miss my turns or end up on the road to work but on my day off? ug 😦 I’m not too multitasked:p

It may be less dangerous than praying the Rosary while driving and trying to keep track of prayers with a rosary in hand.

I sometimes listen to a rosary CD at home. They are good tools.

As for giving them away, make sure you give them to people who will want them and listen to them. Sadly, I find that a lot of people really don’t care for the rosary.

🙂 I have a small notebook at home and carry with me to adoration so I can keep track of my rosary prayer intentions. I write the date and the intention trying to not make too many at once. That way I know when God answers and I can thank and praise Him for His goodness. I want to thank everyone for praying for our choir that has because we had a big blow up but it has been prayed over and everything went better tonight because God’s grace is good.

we use a rosary CD for our cenacle, it is very popular and we have been asked to use it for wakes. It is not my preference, because for me the rosary is essentially a private contemplative prayer, and I have a hard time with the way the rosary is usually recited in a group, as if there was a prize for finishing quickly. the CD seems to force people to slow down. I could never use a CD or say the rosary while driving, it would not be safe for me since I usually go rather deep into meditation. on my own I sometimes use a rosary CD when using the treadmill or excercise bike, if I am alone in the exercise room.
