Rosary during Easter Season

Hello,

Is it customary during the Easter Season to replace the Salve Regina said or sung at the end of Rosary with the Regina Caeli?

Hey, JMJ! By the way, forgive my huge oversight in not thanking you for helping me with O Sun of Justice. :o You did a magnificent job! 👍 I’ve turned it into our choir director. I hope she’ll do something with it.

You might have the Rosary and the Angelus confused. During the Easter Season it is the custom to replace the Angelus with the Regina Caeli. As far as the Rosary is concerned, you recite the Glorious mysteries during the Sundays of Easter and all the way up to Advent, when you switch to the Joyful Mysteries. You then switch to the Sorrowful during the Sundays in Lent, inclusive of Palm Sunday. At least, that’s what I was taught regarding the Rosary.

And that is where I am coming from. We change the Angelus to the Regina Caeli - the Easter Marian Antiphon. I was curious - why wouldn’t this extend to the Rosary? Maybe I am trying to do 2+2=5 (which I can prove mathematically by the way :D), but I just thought, hmmmm… why not - and has someone else thought this too?

I then did a Google search on it and came up empty - so maybe I am the only one who thought of this. :o
 
I was thinking about this and it seems like a good idea. What about Lent? Would it be ok to substitute the Salve Regina with Ave Regina Caelorum? I’m gonna give it a try tonight…
