Hi!

I was just wondering if this is normal.

I pray the rosary everyday. Last time, I used to pray very hard and meditate on almost every word of the rosary. After a while during the rosary, I felt a sense of “dizziness”. It wasn’t exactly dizziness but I felt like I was going to fall down or something. Sadly, my body often tensed up before anything else happened.

I don’t know why this occurs. Please shed some light! Thank you!

Honesty, the first thing that popped in my head was that you were so focused on your prayer that you started breathing shallowly and the lack of oxygen to your brain made you dizzy. But it could be a lot of reasons. If I were you, I’d make note of this and see if it happens again. If it turns into a frequent experience, see if you recognize a pattern.

You don’t have to pray so hard that you pass out.

Try to relax a little bit when you pray. Try some different prayer techniques, a different physical position, some scriptural meditations instead of concentrating on every word of the prayer, etc.

Were you saying it out loud? The Rosary can be exhausting physcially sometjems…

I’ve experienced something similar. The sides of my head hurt. That’s because I’m using every ounce of strength I can muster to block out unwanted thoughts. These days I’ve learned to relax. It’s okay if you can’t give 100%.

Yes I have it too when I read the Psalms. Hope is a good sign. :hugs::hugs::hugs: to @melvfe

My tongue has gone numb a few times. I keep a cup of water nearby now and sip on it at the end of each decade. It seems to help usually.

I find it easier to keep out unwanted thoughts if you pray with your eyes open.
