I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a VERY durable Rosary. It’s a gift for a friend of mine that will be going back to Iraq soon. He is a Staff Sgt. in the Marine Corps.

I really want something that he could carry in his pocket all the time that would survive the riggers of recon team combat. Anyone know where I could get something like this? Thanks!

I think the most durable one is the hand-made one - it is a long string with knots tied up.

Be sure to tell them specifically that you need a rosary with a plastic, NOT metal crucifix on it, for military personnel. (And that the color must, therefore, be military friendly).
These rosaries are free, and they are TOUGH!! (You are, of course, free to send them a donation, since you were planning to buy the rosary).
I can tell you right now, these will last & last. I won’t say that you can’t damage them; I will say, that you would have to be trying to break one, in order to do it in.
A lot of folks who make rosaries for RA, also make them for various groups who distribute rosaries to our military men & women.
HTH!!

They have instructions and a video on their website so that you could make some to send over to them. Ask what colors they like and make 'em. It will be great to get something so meaningful from home.
