Rosary in Spanish

I’ve started listening to a recording of the Rosary in Spanish. Noticed that they seem to end each decade with a “Gloria” Hail Mary – perhaps in anticipation of the upcoming “Glory Be”.

Is this the normal custom, and if so – why do we not do it for the Rosary in English?

I’m no expert on the Rosary but it’s a tipoff to the others in the group that the leader is on the tenth Hail Mary and that the Gloria (Glory Be & Fatima prayer) follows this last “Ave.”

I have heard it in both English and Spanish recitations of the rosary here in town. In my opinion, I hear this in rosaries that are rattled off quickly. When there is a group rosary with more attention to meditation, the pace is slower and more reverent. In this case the leader foregoes prefacing the last Hail Mary with a hasty “Gloria!”

when we pray the Rosary, after each decade, we say
Gloria al Padre, y al Hijo, y al Espirutu Santo, como era en un principio, ahora y siempre por los siglos de los siglos amen.

then we say
Oh Jesus mio, perdona nuestros pecados. Libranos del fuego del infierno. Lleva al cielo a todas las almas, especialmente a las mas necesitadas de tu misericordia.

the other day i was listening to a Rosary from Spain, and apparently they also include this prayer after each decade
Maria madre de gracia de piedad y de misericordia , defiendenos del enemigo y amparanos , ahora y en la hora de nuestra muerte amen

When the Rosary is said in a group, a person is usually the one to “lead the Rosary”.

This person initiates the first part of each prayer and the second part of each prayer is answered by the rest of the group.

Each mystery is alternated as to who starts the prayer : 1st mystery-I say the first half of the Our father and they answer the second part. I pray the first half of the Hail Mary and they answer the second part.

But, since I am the one directing the Rosary-when it comes time for the 2nd mystery, they start the first half of the Our Father and I answer the second half. They pray the first part of the Hail Mary and I answer with the second half.

On the 10th Hail Mary, I say "Gloria, Holy Mary Mother of God…that way they know to continue with the Gloria et Patri et Filius et Spirituis Sanctus. Because I gave the final part of the last Hail Mary.

Nothing cryptic. It’s just tracking. One person leads the Rosary.
