I offer an intention or two per decade…typically they are as follows:Do any of you put a limit on your Rosary intentions? After mentioning the Pope’s intentions, the confraternity’s intentions, the Pope himself, I feel like I can only add the a single personal intention. Well, personal in that it is my intention, not that I am praying for myself.
Opinions?
Pax tecum,
Juli
First decade: I pray for mercy, and for my family to have mercy before Jesus someday…and I ask God to help me be merciful as He is.
Second decade: I pray for my deceased relatives, and all souls in purgatory.
Third decade: I pray for children who are abused or aborted…and for women who are considering abortion, and also those who have had abortions–that they will turn to God for mercy and comfort. I also pray for all people in the world who are suffering in some way.
Fourth decade: I pray for a personal intention or petition.
Fifth decade: I always end my Rosary in deep gratitude…offering up the last decade to God, for my gratitude.
I also throughout the Rosary thank Mary for praying with and for me.
I find the Rosary to have more meaning this way, when I pray for a variety of people. Hope this idea helps a little.
