your new rosary should be showing up anytime now, be sure to let us know

I lost my favorite one, too. Was sure I left it in church. It fell out of my purse and ended up under the dryer. I looked under the dryer, but I couldn’t see it until the dryer was moved. It took St.Anthony about a month! I gues he figured I have enough rosaries just laying around, that I didn’t need that one!

So, keep asking St. Anthony, and look under the dryer.

I have a couple already made, let me know if I can send you one.

<< My rosary is missing! :crying:

And I am totally lost and distraught! I’ve looked all over my apt., in my pockets, my purse, my bag, my car, at church… I don’t know how I could have lost it! I had just had it blessed by my priest a month or two ago, so I feel especially guilty for losing it. I guess I’m too careless to own a blessed object. :nope:

I’m so beside myself! I feel like–like I’ve been disarmed! Even when it wasn’t blessed, it got me through so many difficult times. It’s been such a constant part of my life. I always had it with me… which, looking back, probably was such a great idea.

I suppose I could have lost it at some other places where I went–restaurants. I guess I could call them and ask if anyone’s found it. For some reason, I feel really weird and uncomfortable about doing that… asking random places if anyone’s turned in a lost rosary. I shouldn’t be such a silly coward. I should be willing to get out of my shell for the sake of something I love and something I want back. >>

You shouldn’t feel weird about calling around to see if anyone found your rosary. It’s very important to you and I think most people would understand. Good luck, I hope you find it.🙂

<< It really has been a bit traumatic for me! And mine wasn’t even a special rosary! I bought it for very little at my church gift shop. Still, it was very pretty, and had lots of sentimental value. I just hope nothing bad has happened to it… but I just have to entrust it to our Lord! :gopray2: >>

The sentimentality is what makes it special! I have one that my mom bought for me, I think I received it for my First Communion. I remember seeing a woman praying with a beautiful rosary once at Mass when I was about 6 years old and I wanted one. I kept telling my mom that it was “sparkly.” Now I know that the beads were made of crystal Aurora Borealis but at the time, being I was only 6 or so, I pretty much could only describe it as “sparkly.” She bought me a rosary with navy blue beads surrounded by a clear plastic and I remember being disappointed because I had my heart set on having a rosary like the one I saw that woman praying with at Mass.
Not long after, my mom found the one I wanted. 😃
I was THRILLED. It was kind of small since I was little myself and now that I’m older, I bought myself one last year or the year before that looks a lot like the one my mom gave me.
We moved earlier this year and now I can’t find the one my mom bought for me but I’m fairly certain it’s around here somewhere in one of many boxes or bags that I haven’t sorted through yet.

What did the one you lost look like? not to hijack the thread, but I’d love to read about other people’s rosaries. What they look like, how long you’ve had them.

<< When I get to heaven, St. Anthony is going to be the next person I see after St. Peter. He will hand me my glasses and my keys and say: here, now don’t bother me again for all eternity. >>

LOL! 😃

I know what you mean … when I was a young 'un my grandmother gave me the most beautiful little silver-coloured Rosary. If you’ve ever seen the really small ones that are kept in little egg-shaped containers, it was that style, though most of 'em are plastic nowadays. Just gorgeous.

Unfortunately I used to take it to school to show it off and ended up losing it. I only hope it wasn’t a family heirloom or something 😦

<< For me, the reason my rosary could be lost is because I always pray rosary while driving. When I reach the destination, the rosary could be on my lap. When I get out of the car, it could accidentally fall to the ground without my realization. I think that is how I lost my second rosary.

Later on I received from a Charity organization after my donation.
Now I am carrying that one in my purse with extra care. I always pay attention and make sure to put it inside of my purse and zip up my purse, so it will not be lost.

God bless! >>

I started hanging mine from my rearview mirror of my car since I pray the rosary most often when I go to Adoration. It makes me feel comforted and just plain good to see it hanging right there in front of me.

Yes, I’m pretty sure I know what they look like. I think I might have had one of those really tiny ones too.

Get another and make sure you have spares in handy places.

I find it very easy to get attached to the physical rosary. But I think this is really an error.
The joy we get from praying
the answered prayers
the fellowship of the saints
our ability to pray
the personal attention of Mary
If we have these things they are easily associated with the physical rosary that we used. But these things do not go away when our physical rosary is lost. I think we lose nothing at all when a favorite rosary is missing or lost. Instead, we can gain if it helps us to realize that the souls we love dearly are not bound at all to any physical object.

So go get another Rosary, have it blessed and begin using it.
I think you will quickly realize how little you lost.

Having said all that, I must admit to driving around, looking everywhere and asking people if they saw my rosary (and having to explain what it looks like). In one case, the checkout clerk at the grocery store had found it. I’m glad I don’t have any that are not easily replaced.

I lost a beautiful crystal rosary that my future MIL gave me for Christmas  In fact, I lose my rosaries constantly… so I bought a box of 100 plastic rosaries, so if I lose one, it’s no terrible sentimental loss, and I can have one in my pockets, purse, bed, etc…

100? :bigyikes: even if they’re plastic that could be a fairish bit of moolah. Might be more fun and less expensive to learn to make twine rosaries as the Rosary Army do (rosaryarmy.com).

Dear Rosary-less,
Code:
St. Anthony of Padua has interceded whenever I have asked him to find something lost. I usually find it at the end of an Our Father or Hail Mary. In my experience he assists in finding Rosaries for "free," as in say his name and look for the Rosary, and I have always found it BEFORE even starting the prayer I had in mind to say.

Of course that might be just a coincidence, though I don't believe so.

I think I’ll regret if I don’t write anything here. 😃 Let’s hijack!

I was a lapsed catholic from 2000-2003, June 2003, I dreamt about buying a rosary, which was a wow, because I don’t even pray at that time. That’s when I came back to the church. Just recently, I knew that it was during the year of the rosary. 🙂

Few months ago, I was waiting for bus at a bus stop, chatting with my friend when suddenly my hand touched ‘something’. Yes, you are right, it was a decade rosary, behind the cross, it’s written “our lady of all nation.” Can’t really remember the story, but at that time I took it as a sign.

Nowadays, I always buy the cheap rosary ($0.80). Usually I bring more than 1 rosary if I go out, just in case someone needs it, I can give it to the person easily. 🙂

Oh poor thing…if you lived close by (you dont) I could give you one of dozens…not your favourite one of course:)

You can get an all-twine knotted rosary free from:
rosaryarmy.com/

Look under “general information” for the request link…
I’ve one of these, and use it as my night-time Rosary. I can keep it under my pillow, and if I fall asleep praying it, I don’t worry about it (you know, like rolling over and breaking a beaded rosary).

I like to go to flea markets and find old rosaries, they are like orphans and I know that they will not just be used as a necklace. If you do rescue an old rosary, rmember to take them to your Priest and have them blessed .
