Rosary offered to who?

Hi all - i struggle with Marian devotions, but I’ve had some powerful experiences with the Rosary. I try to offer up a Rosary for various intentions, but should I offer the Rosary to the Blessed Mother or to Jesus Himself? I’ve been offering them directly to Jesus through Mary’s intercession.

Does this make any sense?

If you begin your prayers by addressing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit seperately, keeping in mind Jesus interceeds to the Father for us, and Mary interceeds to Jesus on our behalf, it may be easier. That is what I do. I also appeal to her for special graces and she always comes through. It is uncanny the graces she obtains for us. St. Joseph has a lot of influence too. Don’t be shy. They’re on your side. Of course, I never pray without addressing the Trinity, and Jesus specifically

If you keep in mind that all graces ultimately come from the Father through Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit, and that Mary is the daughter of the Father, mother of the Son and spouse of the Holy Spirit, and favored above even the angels, it is easy, and very satisfiying. Of course, be expected to be roundly attacked by you-know-who, because he hates that.

Uh oh…as an RCIA candidate, I may have been doing it all wrong. I think I have misunderstood this concept of “offering”, and need some advice. I was under the impression that the rosary was about Jesus and Mary, and you offerings and/or intentions could be something else. In my case, The Church Suffering. I need some clarification on this point. Thank you

You can pray for anything you want using the Rosary. It’s a very powerful prayer.

In Rosarium Virginis Maria, Pope John Paul II pointed out that when we pray the Rosary, we are standing next to Mary, and looking with her at Jesus, and actually seeing Jesus through her eyes. In the Rosary, Mary is teaching us about Jesus, and we are entering into a relationship with Him that is patterned according to her relationship with Him.

I was in RCIA only two years ago. Really when you first start, there is no “wrong” way to do it. I’m convinced that Mary is watching so closely and she is so pleased with your every effort.

I think for Mary it is much like watching a baby trying to learn something new. Such as walking or even anything else. Your first efforts to try something bring you so much attention from Mary. She is there to catch you if you fall. She is the best mother that ever was.

I don’t want to tell you too much, because frankly I think you will find out so many things by yourself. And you will have such fun and experience so much love by just going ahead.

Just remember that Mary will clean up your mess. As a very small child, once I put a bowl of spaghetti upside down on top of my head. A good mother will just laugh, clean up the mess and start over again. As long as you are trying, that is what counts. And it really counts for a lot.
