Rosary on the Coast UK is happening now (10 am US Eastern Time, Sun April 29) if anyone not already signed up in UK wishes to pray a Rosary in solidarity with UK. I have started praying, just paused to post here.

If you can’t do it at this time (10 am ET, 3 pm London time) then feel free to pray a Rosary for UK any time on Sun April 29.

A great day for the UK wrapped in a Rosary of prayer with many others praying at home, in religious houses, and in other parts of the world.

I prayed that St. Dominic Savio’s vision of England returning to the Church comes true.
Fist time I hear about St.Dominic Savio. Very interesting I will read up on it in the following days.

[One could offer the comment, that the Anglican church returning to communion with Rome wasn’t far off “apparently” and the last minute “turn of events” to admit woman to the priesthood was a last ditch effort by whoever had a stake in maintaining the schism. And that is interesting, because it is rather “hard to imagine” the pope having a “word to say” in the lands of “her majesty” and the implications that would bring on the international stage…]

I think it will. For the sake of all England’s many martyrs for the faith.
If you haven’t seen it, the Facebook site for the event has photos of prayer groups sent in from all over the British Isles. It is very heartwarming to see so many faithful people, here in a country where Catholicism was banned for so long.

I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and saw my diocese trying to organize something similar today. They stated they attempted last minute, but encouraged everyone to go to the beach and pray the rosary. Hopefully it turned out well, I was unfortunately unable to participate due to work

I believe I heard some group is organizing a U.S. version for Oct. 7?

I really liked reading about him. Thanks Tis. If there’s anything I enjoy ceaselessly it’s the catholic mystics and hagiography, I’m never too tiered or overworked to read about them.

It does appear St. Dominic Savio’s vision was -at least partially- realized in 1850 with the bull “Universalis Ecclesiae”. Off course, his vision hints at more (as we’d all like) yet may have been referring to just that event. Which in itself is very good, since at least in Ireland the Catholic Church seems to be alive and well. And as this thread shows, so too in England.

I haven’t gotten around to reading about Saint John Bosco, but this reference is again a push in the right direction. So many wonderful saints and rich heritage and so little time…

It was lovely…terribly cold but a lovely event. We were blessed that God kept the rain off. I was heartened to see so many people turn up in the terrible weather. Honestly for April it was like winter…brrr. My city Brighton and Hove (yes the city is two names and an ‘and’ ) had about 5 or 6 different groups and in our group there was about 90 people. The rosary was said mostly in English but with one decade in Polish and one in Italian to reflect the community in our area, we then sang hymns to Our Lady in Latin and English led by our accomplished priest.

We had a small one last year which was organized by a few people on Church Militant. I see this new one has publicity stating Fr. Richard Heilman is involved. Fr. Heilman is the closest thing to a national “rosary priest” that we have these days and he leads big rosary and prayer novenas via the Internet with thousands joining. He usually does a 54-day Rosary Novena for our Nation starting in August and ending in October.

Strangely, I have not seen any mention of this Rosary Coast to Coast on his social media group page where he announces the prayer initiatives, so maybe he is waiting till closer to the day, or still getting it together. I am happy to pray the Rosary on Oct 7 regardless of who is doing it but it will likely get more participation if he publicizes it.

Yes, you all looked very cold! Since I’m in the Upper Midwest and we just had our final huge blizzard two weeks ago, it looked familiar! Nothing like standing outside in the cold, wind, and rain and saying the Rosary! 🙂
