I’ve already come to the conclusion that there’s no point taking communion in my own church now, as it’s not the real presence. It seemed silly to conitnue with it, but as a non-catholic, I know I can’t partake in a catholic mass. It got me to thinking, and I know this is pretty tangental - is the rosary only an effective prayer if you’re a catholic?
 
The Rosary is a Devotional prayer and as such is very personal and NOT required.

One does not have to be Catholic to pray as God hears ALL prayers and as for the “effects”, well that is intended upon what is in your heart and of course, the will of God.

God’s blessings upon you as you embark on your spiritual journey and I pray that the Rosary will be a comfort to you.👍
 
No, you need not be Catholic for the Rosary to be effective.

Saying the Rosary may well lead you to become Catholic, however. 🙂
 
No, you do not have to be Catholic to pray the Rosary; it is just a way of keeping your thoughts on God, a way that uses simple prayers that most people should know. (It is a simpler technique than memorizing the 150 Psalms.)

“The Mystery of the Rosary” by Rev. Marc Tremeau, O.P.

You might be interested in picking up this book, or one like it.
 
A few years ago, Time magazine ran an article about how many non-Catholics were praying the rosary.
 
By all means… yes… pray the rosary. It is beneficial Catholic or not.
 
Prayer is only effective in faith… do you believe the creed that begins the Rosary?

I certainly HOPE that the rosary doesn’t require being Catholic to make it effective; its the one prayer that this United Methodist says most often.
Pray it, my friend, pray the rosary; the Blessed Virgin is the mother that Christ gave to all of us.👍👍
