Rosary question: Which mysteries do you pray now?

During Lent I prayed the sorrowful mysteries each day.
Last week I prayed the glorious mysteries, with the resurrection and all that.
Now is still the time of Easter, but I returned to the normal schedule, so today Monday I prayed the joyful mysteries. Because I haven’t prayed them in a while now… or would it be more fitting to still pray the glorious mysteries?
During Advent I always prayed the joyful mysteries.

I still follow the old rotation.

Mon & Thu = Joyful
Tue & Fri = Sorrowful
Wed & Sat = Glorious
Sunday during Advent and Christmas season = Joyful
Sunday during Lent = Sorrowful
All other Sundays = Glorious

I stick with the suggested rotation which includes the Luminous mysteries:

Monday & Saturday: Joyful
Tuesday & Friday: Sorrowful
Wednesday & Sunday: Glorious (sub sorrowful on Sundays of Lent)
Thursday: Luminous

That’s interesting—I’ve never heard of someone praying different mysteries depending on the Season. (Then I again there’s I lot of stuff I don’t know. Why do you think I hang out on CAF?) I kinda like it, though…might have to try that…

I usually do the normal schedule, the one that depends on the days of the week. I like it that way because it’s like the whole liturgical year in a nutshell, from the sorrows to the joys to the glories.

Really, I think the rosary can be a very personal devotion so feel free to pray whichever mysteries you want to! I’m guessing that when you get to heaven Jesus and Mary won’t sit you down and give you a stern talking to for “praying the wrong mysteries”

You are correct. One is free to meditate on any set of mysteries one chooses. Heck, if you want to go all out you can meditate on all of them every day - fifteen (or twenty) decades!

For those who wish to say only 5 decades per day, the Holy Father proposed the following schedule:

Monday - Joyful
Tuesday -Sorrowful
Wednesday -Glorious
Thursday -Luminous
Friday - Sorrowful
Saturday- Joyful
Sunday- Glorious

For those who prefer to follow the traditional order of the days it is:

Monday -Joyful
Tuesday -Sorrowful
Wednesday -Glorious
Thursday -Joyful
Friday-Sorrowful
Saturday-Glorious
Sunday -Glorious
