I have heard people on this forum say they pray Rosary in different places while doing different things, such as driving, cooking, cleaning house, walking, etc., so my question is (please don’t be hard on me if this is wrong), but…do you thing our Heavenly Mother would mind if I prayed Rosary while I was riding my exercise bicycle?

I don’t think she’d mind. I know someone who does it on her treadmill. If you can pray and exercise at the same time, have at it.

I think that would be fine. I pray it while driving home, since I have such a long commute (I also pray the chaplet of Divine Mercy). I’m hoping (and praying!!) that my situation will change and I’ll be able to give more of my undivided attention to prayer, but for now, I’m doing my best. It’s not ideal, but it’s better than not praying at all. :o

Heck, no! It’s a private devotion that can be done privately…and I think that you’re working out shows honor to the Holy Spirit as your taking care of you’re body as it is His temple…so it’s like praying twice: once with your lips/heart, once through action.

Personally, when I exercise, thats when I have less formal “conversations” with God, like “Ouch, Lord, please don’t let this hurt too much tomorrow!” 😉

I walk, while praying the Rosary. I think it would be fine… because while you’re exercising, you’re lifting your mind to God. 🙂

No, I dont think She would mind. I too often pray little simple prayers, or have little conversations with the Lord. This summer, I have plans to talk walks on the path by our Church, which pases the cemetery. We are very blessed in the fact its a very beautiful path, through fields and, if you walk through the cemetery, very old and beautiful trees. It is quite peaceful, and you can often find monks walking the path as well, as our Church is also a monastery and seminary. I think it would be very nice to pray the Rosary as I walk. God Bless.

It is not wrong. 🙂

I am glad that you guys don’t think that is wrong. Right now I can only seem to be able to pray the Rosary in the car. It is hard to do it anywhere else with my 18 month old running around. Do you have to say it all at once or can you pause and say various decades throughout the day?:crossrc:

thanks in advance

I think whatever works for you is fine. I ve been saying a rosary everyday as I drive to work (about 20 minute commute). Good way to start the day and get all my intentions in prayer early. I bet a lot more rosaries get said in a car than you could imagine.

Eli – you know I think you are right. And you know by saying part of it when you can (around that baby’s schedule) keeps you in prayer during your day – that sounds like “prayer without ceasing” to me.

God Bless You!

If you’ve already prayed 5 decades you can pray additional decades while going to sleep or other activity. But if you are too busy to find time for 5 decades (which would take 30-50 min) you can pray what you can while doing something else.

And taking care of your precious baby is part of the prayer as well!

I think it is a great idea. Praying the Rosary is wonderful and suitable for many circumstances. Since we Christians are to pray without ceasing, it follows that we are able to pray the Rosary in many circumstances.

And I think this is a great idea, because the duration of exercise should be about 30 minutes which is about the same as how long it takes to pray the Rosary (5 decades). So it fits in just right.
