Rosary Scapulars?

asimplesinner - it seems i am frustrating you, i am not tryin to do so :S

I just thoguht scapulars had to be a certain, way… i.e. cloth… and could be no other.

When you are enrolled in the Brown Scapular and it becomes you “lay habit” so-to-speak the Carmelites ask that the Scapular you are initially enrolled with be brown wool worn in the traditional way (not balled up or pinned in a funky way ect.), after the enrollment prayer is said by a priest and you place the Scapular over your head, you can basically just take it off and start to wear it any “style” you want to. The Carmelites do prefer though that wearers enrolled continue to wear it in the traditional way though.

If any one know of sources that supply the green scapular material in bulk , please post it here ; the Vincentains have them in ready to wear format with the plastic cover and string but not just plain scapular part only.

Since green scapular come with the special and much needed grace of conversion , from being in the vicinity and not even worn, it is a good item to be included when clothing is donated to St.Vincent DePaul stores etc:; better to have only the scapular part for this purpose.

There might be many on these boards who might want to send them to mission fields .

Couple of suppliers of the scapulars on the internet seem to be of questionable standing in The Church teachings (and an irony ; may be to emphasise that God can use all, even the ones who still need conversion !)
