As a preface, the traditional ethnicity of my parish is Polish, and it remains pretty heavily Polish today.

Recently, I was elected treasurer of the Rosary Society, and going through the records and things w/ the previous treasurer, I learned about something called a “Roza” which each member of the Rosary Society is assigned to. There are 36 of these, but whatever they were supposed to do is something that’s been lost.

The current president and I both were thinking that if we could find out what this is all about, maybe it should be revived. If not, we’re really struggling to figure out why this should be maintained since it just adds another bit of complication to the record keeping. There is nothing in the society constitution that requires it, and I’ve come up dry in my google efforts. So … if anyone can point me up a clue as to what these Rozas are for (the only hint I have is that it has something to do w/ offering a rosary for a specific intention, but nothing on the frequency or what the 36 different specific intentions are supposed to be)–it would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t know if this is it but Roza means fast in the islamic world and this site mayhave info about this being said as one intention using rosary beads. I don’t have time to read the whole lot. I scanned quickly and could not see the precise place where it’s written. Go to intentblog.com/archives/2007/03/holistic_quantu_4.html

It may not be a good site. I didn’t check it much.

I would not recommend the above website. But it may have your answer.

After a quick look this website provided some great info on the rosary if you have quite a bit of time to read answers.com/topic/rosary

God bless:)
