Do you have to be in the church to pray the rosary? Do you hold the beads in your hand while you pray it? Any other information…
You don’t have to be in church to pray the rosary. You can pray it anywhere and everywhere. You can even pray it while you’re tending to the yard, pulling weeds, etc.Do you have to be in the church to pray the rosary? Do you hold the beads in your hand while you pray it? Any other information…
Is a partial indulgence given if one prays the rosary at home privately?source: catholic.org/clife/prayers/indulgc.php
"it’s worth noting that a plenary indulgence is given for the recitation of the rosary in a church or family group

By a plenary indulgence is meant the remission of the entire temporal punishment due to sin so that no further expiation is required in Purgatory. A partial indulgence commutes only a certain portion of the penalty; and this portion is determined in accordance with the penitential discipline of the early Church.

Both a plenary and partial indulgence is available for praying the rosary. **To gain a plenary indulgence the faithful must complete the following: **
Code:* Be in a state of grace (free from mortal sin) * Be free from attachment to venial sin. * Go to confession several days before or after praying the Rosary. * Receive Holy Communion on the day you pray the Rosary. * Say a prayer for the Pope. * Pray the rosary in a church or family group, or religious Community. * Pray the five decades during one session * Pray vocally, announcing the Mysteries of the Rosary and then meditating on them.
So, I was wondering if the above is accurate? The other site just mentioned about reciting at the church or with group.*To gain a partial indulgence individuals may pray the rosary in whole or in part. *
The confession, Communion, prayer for the Pope’s intentions, detachment from all sins even venial are required for any plenary indulgences. The same holds true for the Divine Mercy Sunday indulgence.Yes, the info found at this website.

You’re welcome.Thank you, lak!
yah, I use my fingers most of the time when going to work. I’ve figure it takes me 15 min walking to and from the parking, and to the church - during the walking time, I could finish a rosary.I’ve used my fingers to keep count when I’m walking and would like to say a rosary, but have left it home.
Thanks to venice97 for asking the question - I wouldn’t have known much about the indulgences for praying the rosary. This could be something you might want to suggest your parish to do. At my parish, I don’t think they pray the rosary before Sunday mass, but they do for every daily mass. You’re welcome.Thank you, water, for the information on the partial indulgence for private rosary. I knew about the plenary indulgence but did not know about the partial. That’s great to know because I live alone and my church doesn’t have a rosary time.
Great to hear that! Thanks for sharing LeahlnancsiNot too long ago, I was sitting in an emergency room praying The Rosary on my figures while my mother was getting a CatScan. God heard me. Instead of a stroke, she was dehydrated, had high blood sugar and low potassium which were all easily remedied.
