Whats the origins of the wearing of rose chasuble at mass today.
That’s very true. The “rose” vestments at our parish could be described as somewhere between bubble gum and pepto bismal pink. Some are actually so rosey that they’re hot pink.
Some parishes don’t have the rose colored vestments. It’s not required that they be worn on the two Sundays in Advent and Lent; it is permitted. Some parishes choose not to spend the money for a vestment that is only worn twice per year. Why do you think some priests dont wear rose ?
From what I understand, the use of rose vestments dropped off in the late 60s mid 70s and its only been in the last decade or two that they have made a comeback. In that case it could be that they were never replaced along with other liturgical colors. Some parishes choose not to spend the money for a vestment that is only worn twice per year.
