Changed my avater for first time in eight years on here too. Took His image off my phone, still have scapular on although I haven’t changed my clothes yet.

What does a person have to do to get St. Therese’s attention?

She does so much for so many. People get roses all the time during a novena to her. Me? Nothing.

Nelka, don’t do it. PLEASE!!!

Put His image back on your phone and DO NOT TAKE THAT SCAPULAR OFF!!!
Don’t cut off your own nose to spite your face.

Your life will not improve cutting off the only source of Life. Even if the enemy succeeds in getting you to think things have gotten better, it won’t last.

Thank you for posting this prayer. Do you know if it is available on a prayer card?

Pray for me too, Tis, please. I am in DESPERATE DESPERATE DESPERATE need of spiritual help.

To my knowledge, the prayer is not on a current prayer card. It dates back to the 1930s and obviously was on a card or something at that time because the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine taught people to pray it, but I haven’t even been able to find a vintage holy card with it.

It is in “Mother Angelica’s Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality” edited by Raymond Arroyo, and also on the Web here and there, most notably at the Rhoda Wise Home website, rhodawise.com/novena . (I also say the other prayers on that page; the one that starts “O Lord Jesus Christ, Our Mediator with the Father” is taken from the Legion of Mary prayers. ) Rhoda is the one who taught Rita Rizzo (later Mother Angelica) to say that prayer. Rhoda herself was taught to say it by the Sisters of Charity while she was in the hospital.

I said a Hail Mary that you find the spiritual help you need.

Same here.

However, I do get my prayers answered without fail through the intercession of Our Lady.

I don’t and that is what stumps me. My own mother, if she were still alive, would do anything to help me. I expect more from Our Lady than silence.

If this is help, I’d hate to see myself without it. That’s how bad everything is.

I’m sorry, Lormar. Maybe you’re going through some kind of dark night. In my prayers today, I’ll ask Our Lord to send you a sign.

Most if the time I pray and that’s it but my mom died when she was 50 and I knew my 50th birthday would be a hard one…I prayed to Saint Therese for a rose but didnt tell anyone. In the mail that day I got a snowglobe from my aunt with a pink rose inside. Both my husband and a couple we were close to gave me a dozen roses. I was at the gricery store and some of the roses were past their prime so they were giving one to each woman as she left. I think that’s it.
That was 18 years ago and nothing from her since. God kn o ws what we need and when we need it abd works through his saints to give it to us.

This is a quote from C. S. Lewis Screwtape Letters where a senior demon is advising his nephew, a junior demon. The Enemy referred to by the demon in this quote is God.

I think this is inspiring, especially if you find yourself spiritually dry and undergoing the dark night of the soul and no matter how hard you look for God, you just can’t find him. Praying for you and @Nelka.

Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy’s will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys.”

Yes, roses from St. Therese can be gotten in pictures on cards you receive, and even a person!

A priest, many years ago, shared this about him praying for something and requesting a yellow rose from St. Therese.

The rectory was looking for a new housekeeper and cook, and a lady named Rose who was all dressed in yellow came for the job.

Hang in there! The Lord loves you very much even though you do not “feel” it.

Prayers for you!

Can they appear in dreams?

I once had a dream where a rose bush that has not flowered at all suddenly bore loads of orange roses in the middle of winter.

I also had a dream where I was standing in front of a humongous rose bush with pink cabbage roses and Our Lady was telling me to keep on watering it. I had this dream years after I started praying the rosary daily.

I am remembering a time about forty years ago when my husband was trying to sell a car we had bought that we discovered was not right for us. We had it for a short time.

I started to pray to St. Therese that we would sell it soon, to someone who really needed a car and would appreciate the low price we were asking.

A couple with their teen-aged son came over to look at the car. He had recently been in a wreck with the car he had been driving, and the parents wanted to get him another one. They liked the car and said they would call the next day and then come to purchase it.

I was puzzled and a bit disappointed thinking that it wasn’t going to someone who really needed a car. I continued to pray to St. Therese, mentioning that it was none of my business to think they weren’t needing a car for their son.

I was praying at the kitchen table when my son who was about ten years old at the time, brought a beautiful dark red rose to me that felt like velvet. He said he found it in the street. I was delighted to get it!

The parents of the teen-aged boy called and said they had decided not to buy our car.
We got another call, and a lady whose car had recently “died” needed another car right away to get to work. She came that night and the next day she brought cash in the amount we wanted for the car.

Even my husband who was not very religious at that time told someone that St. Therese had helped us to sell our car…(to a person who really needed it!). 😀

I thought I’d circle back and mention that parts 3 and 4 of the NCRegister’s series on roses from St. Therese have appeared on their site. It looks like they are planning on it being a 6-part series, so two more articles should be forthcoming.
