It depends. There have been those on these forums who contedn that on cannot be a Christian and even a chaste homosexual. That, to me is radical conservatism. Fortunately I don’t see the Church going to that extreme. But there are groups out there. For example, the now defunct, I hope, whackos in Bayside, NY.
Bayside was condemed by the church many, many years ago.

You can be a homosexual w/o actually having any sexual relations whatever. It can be an equal term for one who is same sex attracted in which there is no sin. So unlike the murderer comparison, yes, you can be a homosexual w/o sexual sin. One needs to understand the actual experience a little better.
I believe that is illogical. I do not believe it. I believe that category you claim does not exist. The habitual action causes the overwhelming temptation. All people are tempted to sin. The only ones who do sin are those who sin.

I believe those who are trapped in this lifestyle need our prayers. I believe those who are tempted to commit sexual sins but resist deserve our encouragement and our prayers.
I believe those who promote such a lifestyle are cynical manipulators who deserve our opposition and our prayers if they haven’t offended God so much that they have removed themselves from His grace.
I believe those politicians and busnesses who support such a lifestyle deserve to either be thrown out of office or starved out of their businesses and our prayers if they have seered their consciences so much that they no longer hear God.

…advocates and practitioners perpetuating the stereotype that it’s the conservative religious fuddy-duddies who think sex is something dirty that should be kept in the dark, and not enjoyed…In actuality the Church’s teaching on sexuality is quite beautiful
I agree with this, but you know what? While the church teaches what you just said, it’s unfortunate to say that there are many Catholics that are “conservative religious fuddy-duddies who think sex is something dirty that should be kept in the dark, and not enjoyed”. I have seen many of them right here on these boards, and reading some of the topics, you see them as the types who go around bossing other people on these boards as to what they can and cannot do in their sex lives. Usually some person will have a sexual preference that is in line with the church, but because the prude doesn’t personally like that certain thing they are doing, they will instead of saying “Well I personally don’t like that” will instead say “well the church teaches…” when in fact the church says no such thing.

That makes no flippin sense whatsoever. If you are not having sex with the same gender… then you are not homosexual.

Many people use “same sex attracted” for this reason. It does not imply that the sexual act is actually happening like homosexual does.

However many people with same sex attraction but who are celibate are unaware and do use homosexual to describe themselves, so it is something to be mindful of.

Not all IVS is producing children out of wedlock. Many are happily married couples who have no other way of having children.
This situation is addressed in CCC # 2377. The key is that among married individuals, this process is, “morally unacceptable,” for Catholics.

A major problem with IVS is that as practiced it involves the creation of multiple embryos – all of whom are as human as you and I. Once the woman is pregnant, the other embryos are left to die.

QFT! 👍 This happens very often on this board and is indeed something to be mindful of.

Doesn’t make it right, and a couple doesn’t have to biologically produce a child to be a parent. There are millions of children in this world who are waiting to be adopted into good homes with loving parents.
