Hello all,
Today has been a rough day and I would appreciate your prayers. About an hour ago my wife called to report that her favorite uncle passed away. He has been under hospice care for about a week. His dear wife of over 60 years passed away last fall and I think he died of a broken heart as well as some health problems. He was around 90. He was not Catholic but was a Christian of the Baptist faith and was an honorable and godly man who was kind to everyone around him. His faith was very important to him.

Also, this morning I took my dog Sophie to the vet to have them remove a little cyst-like growth on her side that we had recently noticed. The vet reported it is a malignant cancer and it was so widespread inside her body that they couldn’t remove it all. Please pray that her remaining time with our family will be as pleasant and meaningful as possible because, even though she is an animal, we consider her part of our family.

Although I am not Catholic, I am an inquirer who is growing closer to Catholicism and it appears that the closer I become to becoming Catholic, the more Satan seems to attack me and those around me. I’d appreciate your prayers very much. Thanks.

My deepest sympathies over the loss of a beloved uncle. I will remember him and you, his family, as part of my Evening Prayer intentions today. :console:

:crossrc:
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him,
May he, and all the faithful departed,
Through the mercy of God,
Rest in peace. Amen.
:crossrc:

Having lost pets, too, I know how you feel about your Sophie. I will pray for her–that according to God’s will she will not suffer but know nothing but peace and happiness with her family to the end of her days.

Boy, is that ever true. It happened to me also.

Lord have mercy on Tommy’s family, living and deceased. May his uncle and aunt-in-laws rest in peace, their sins forgiven. Amen.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.”

Hello all,

Same here. I had the hardest year imaginable just before finally converting. I am now the mother of a little angel who saved my life.

Will be praying for you and your family, including your beloved dog.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

You and your family, and Sophie and Petey too, have my prayers.

Dear Lord, during these trials,
I offer up to you my confusion
Please give me clarity
I offer up to you my despair
Please give me hope
I offer up to you my weakness
Please give me strength
I offer up to you my pettiness
Please give me generosity of spirit
I offer up to you all my negative thoughts
Please give me the strength to know your presence.
I offer up to you all my sadness
Please give me the assurance of your love.
Amen.

Absolutely friend.
May God’s peace reside within your family…
May His love envelope you in this time of sorrow
May His mercy easy your apprehension
May His loving arms surround all of you, together, as one, and bring you all close to His heart.

Love & Prayers,
pianistclare

I feel for you Tommy…the Good News is often a paradox, so as odd as it sounds at this troubling moment you are liable to find peace youve never thought possible. God loves all those you worry about, even your dear furry one. Rejoice in the Lord…Christ is with you. My prayers tonight will be for your comfort. Pray for me, also.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him,
May he, and all the faithful departed,
Through the mercy of God,
Rest in peace. Amen.

Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.

Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,

and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Thanks again to everyone for your prayers and kind words. I am truly touched.

My wife’s uncle’s funeral is Saturday. He was a gentle Christian man with a good heart. However, it seems like he lost his will to live after his beloved wife of 62 years passed away in November. He only made it a couple of months more before he, too, passed away. I pray they now will be able to see each other again in heaven.

I’ve got better news about Sophie from the vet when I picked her up.

Although part of her torso looks like shaved railroad tracks with all the stitches and staples, she is able to get around and is the same Sophie we know and love – just walking very gingerly.

The vet says she probably has about 6 months to a year or two of quality life ahead of her before the tumor grows back. He also said there was an outside chance that she might die of old age instead of from this, if the malignancy grows more slowly. I hope and pray the latter will occur. We’ll do our best to treasure the time we have left with her.

To AbideWithMe:
Have we met? I am impressed that you knew the name of my other dog (Petey) that we got from Lab Rescue to be a companion for Sophie back in November, especially since I hadn’t mentioned his name on this thread. Petey is now 6 months old.

Either you are one of my neighbors who live on my cul-de-sac or you saw my post from last November about a question for dog lovers.

Either way, I’m impressed and that was nice of you to remember Petey. Thanks again everyone. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end.

:blessyou:

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

This is so strange. My sister has a cat and a dog named Sophie and Petey.
