Miss Kathleen Walker wed Archduke Imre of Austria, with three diocesan priests using the traditional Latin order of marriage followed by a traditional Latin Solemn High Nuptial Mass in the presence of a bishop.

The Reverend Monsignor Charles E. Pope of the Archdiocese of Washington was the celebrant; the Reverend Father Gregory S. Thompson of the Diocese of Arlington served as deacon; and the Reverend Father Edwin E. Perez of the Diocese of Arlington served as subdeacon.

St. Mary Mother of God church in Washington, D.C., is a parish where many traditional Catholics have visited, from the March for Life to vacations to business trips. Originally established as the city’s German church with German sermons, it is now known for its well-attended traditional Latin Masses with English sermons each week and has become a hub of Catholic tradition in the nation’s secular capital.

On Sunday, 2 September 2012, a shrine to Blessed Karl was dedicated, with a first class relic of the beatified last emperor of Austria, whose full royal name is Charles Francis Joseph Louis Hubert George Otto Mary of Habsburg-Lorraine.

On Saturday, 8 September 2012, Blessed Karl’s great-grandson was married at Saint Mary’s.

Good show!!! 👍
The Mass must have been…sublime.

And she`s pro-life!
May they have a truly blessed marriage.

Thank you for posting it. 🙂

What a lovely story. Thank you for posting. May God bless the bride for her prolife work!

A beautiful wedding. And the bride used to work for the Diocese! Notice also that her dress wasn’t strapless, didn’t have a skin tight, split to there mermaid skirt, or any of the other nonsense that most bride’s dresses these days look like. 😃

Archduke Imre spoken at our coffee and donut hour a couple of weeks ago. He is a very devout man, and his new wife seems charming.

I can’t help bragging, but I got married at a TLM in the very same church five weeks ago. 🙂 Of course, their’s was much grander (full solemn Mass), as is befitting.

Blessed Karl, pray for them.

I have been following this couple since their engagement in December 2011. I had no doubt in my mind they would have a traditional latin mass for their wedding. These are two very traditional devout young people. They also wrote a paper/article on waiting to have sex until marriage. I have no doubt that God orchestrated this match and I wish them every happiness.

Congratulations RichC! I’m curious: when you say they had a grander full solemn Mass, is this something that the average couple can’t do?

I hope to visit Old St. Mary’s in the near future for latin mass. 👍

We had a simpler missa cantata with two altar servers. We have friends that had a solemn Mass for their nuptials, so certainly anyone can. It just felt like too much pomp for Joe and Mary Catholic, we never considered it.

PM me a couple of days in advance. Maybe I can introduce you to our little gang that gets together after Mass.

Thanks! BTW, My Sunday Missal arrived today. :yay: I’m so excited to use it on Sunday. I’m getting familiar with it now, and it really is a great, portable size!

Aww, God bless you!! 🙂

Now this is good news. And her gown is beautiful!

May Our Lord and His Blessed Mother bless both them and their marriage!

Wow! What a lovely photo and a lovely couple. From what I’ve heard they seem to be good role models, let’s hope that they are and can advocate continually for the Holy Catholic Church and her traditions.

Blessed Karl of Austria, pray for us (and them!) 😃
