How strange. I posted a news story with links to the outgoing Bishop of LA’s blog calling anyone who disagreed with his interpretation of the Arizona immigration law a Nazi (Godwin’s law btw). My comment was that the Cardinal’s comment was and is innappropriate and he should be called to task for making it. My post was deleted and I was banned for a week for being “disrespectful” of clergy.Tom’s post is pretty self-explainatory. No need to dissect it.
On this forum a news story involving clergy, is just that, a news story or opinion column. We can’t control that.
However, unlike journalists, we have rules to follow.
Disagreement with a religious is fine, as long as you discuss the issue like charitible adults. I know that runs counter to current societal norms, which insists on being vulgar or insulting, but Catholics are to be different. Even if you are not a Catholic you are expected to follow the rules of the forum, charitably, and in an adult fashion.
And don’t be paranoid. this is forum-wide problem.![]()
It seems that the policy is not so clear no innocuous with regard to certain topics.

I guess I’ll be on the bench again for a week (or more) for posting the LA Times news story again. I wonder if I just linked to the his blog directly would I still be suspended?
