I couldn’t care less. I stopped watching Star Trek after the original. All the other versions are impostors anyway.
 
I can honestly say I don’t care about James Kirk’s sexuality at all.
 
I’m bothered.

As an aside, one character absolutely ruined - RUINED - by this wokeness insanity was Lando Calrissian. He went from being a suave ladykilling “playa,” who the women loved and the men liked, in Empire Strikes Back, to an effeminate pansexual who appeared to be in love with a robot in “Solo.” Plus he was a card cheat, too!

Outrageous.

As to Jim Kirk, he liked women but had only one true love: the Enterprise.

Including Star Trek Animated which had Gene Roddenberry in the credits and for which he received paychecks?
 
I’m not a Trekkie but let’s face it, the first in the franchise is similar to Kellogg’s Corn Flakes: the original and still the best, as well as the corniest.
 
The character is no paragon in that area of morality or anything, so it isn’t that it would be a shock, but it implies that he was in the closet in—what? He was born in the 2200s or something?
It would make more sense to choose a character who was a bit more private or discrete about his interests or who he was attracted to, which would include nearly anyone other than Kirk and Riker (and probably Mr Scott) or else someone from a culture that presumably would have been disapproving.
In other words, it is very forced, as plot twists go.

That’s the point: Kirk is William Shatner and William Shatner is Kirk.

Doohan, who, among other things, was in the British Army and came ashore on D-day, June 6, 1944.
 
Picard was class. Kirk was that quarterback you’d never want to marry.
 
Women wouldn’t want to marry him…but all men wanted to BE him.
 
So excited! I’ve always wanted to know which genitalia Kirk was interested in!
 
Kirk is already bi. Read Star Trek TMP novel.

That’s pretty in line with Lando’s Character. Even in the New Headcannon he pretty much lusted after everything that moved and was a notorious cheat.
He was a bit more serious in the old Expanded Universe, but that doesn’t matter now sadly.
