I was at my assigned time during Perpetual Adoration and had to run to the bathroom - which is very close by to the Adoration Chapel. Is this a sin? There was no one else around to be in the Adoration Chapel at this time.

Thanks for listening.

It is not a sin to have to go to the bathroom. Jesus understands. He made us this way, and he’s had to go to the bathroom, too. 🙂

Not as bad as emptying yourself in front of the blessed sacrament.

“I can’t think of ANYTHING that would make Our Lord more furious!” :hey_bud:  - on second thought …

NO! 😉 It’s not a sin without some sort of evil intent worked in there. :yup:

In fact, having an accident in the sacristy isn’t a sin either (without intent) … but your choice sounds like the best one considering the circumstances. :coolinoff:

Couldn’t resist the bombastic and ridiculous initial take. Mea culpa. :blushing:

“Could you not watch with Me for one hour? The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 😉

This is one of the reasons that many parishes have two assigned adorers at all times.

I know mine sure doesn’t.

When Mother Nature calls, there’s no such thing as a busy signal.

all this worry over sin. am sorry guys, but if it is really a sin then why post it here? I think you knew your answer before posting it because if you thought that we would all say it a sin then what are you going to do about it. Where is this message of the good news that Jesus came to spread. Too much sin worry… sorry guys I don’t mean it as rude, just if it really a sin then or not share concerns with the priest 🤷

I find a lot of wisdom in these forums.

This particular concern of mine kept bothering me because I didn’t know the answer.

Doesn’t sin offend God infinitely? I think trying not to sin, even in this circumstance, is an attempt to not offend God, or at least coming up with a plan to not do so in the future.

Maybe I’m not understanding your post. Perhaps you’re saying that it’s better to focus on trying to love God rather than tending towards scrupulosity?

Just my two extra cents, please take it or leave it.
