Hi! Brothers and Sisters in CHRIST

my ex girlfriend was a born again christian, and she was talking to me about the rupture. I tend to agree but in a shallow manner. That was the time thought that we were in jeddah, suadi arabia, that i became so close to the catholic church because we do have gatherings in a secretive way. Yet, issue about rupture is quite doctrinated in the fundamentalist beliefs and its quite scary if you listen to it. Can you please help me explain about rupture, she said its in revelation. also an aglican friend of mine mention to me about that few days ago. Thanks and God bless.

The rapture as Bible Christians believe it, is a pretty new innovation. There are many different beliefs in the rapture and it gets pretty complicated.

Here is a simple explanation from John Martignoni and you can get a free disk explaining it. He talks in a very easy to understand manner and can explain it better than I can.

They also might make jokes about rupture and rapture, but don’t let it bother you, it does look pretty funny though the rapture being called rupture.

one of the things that poses a problem for me with rapture is that the creeds tell us Christ will come again ‘in glory, to judge the living and the dead.’ it doesn’t mention that he’ll come again to rule on earth. (and wouldn’t that be a bummer, sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven and then being sent back to earth to rule for 1000 years!)

it also seems to contradict two of J’s statements: 1) that only the Father knows when the end of time will come. if rapture is true, the end will come 1000 years after everyone disappeared. it will become a no brainer.

1. that His kingdom is not of this world. if He is going to come back to reign here, it must be.

so, other than the old blondie song, rapture is a waste.
