and rightly so, butt i seriously doubt that the admiration goes both ways, even if the Holy Father knew who Limbo is, or cared.
Look, Republicans have long desired to own the Catholic vote. before WWII and for a good while afterward, the Catholic vote went almost as a block to Rooseveltian Democrats. you remember Roosevelt, the one who designed Social Security, the system that Republicans voted enmasse against and have always hated with a white hatred, and even as recently as our Boy president have tried to dismantle.
but I digress. the point is that yes, Limbo may admire the Pope, as do many others who might not agree with the Catholic Church’s positions against wars in faraway places and American exceptionalism. I’m not surprised that Limbo professes admiration for the pope. he’s pushing a Republican agenda, and that agenda will not do well unless a whole bunch of American Catholics get on board his Republican program.
